Problem running VP

Hi, I've been away for quite awhile. I see that many things have changed.
I am having a problem. When I try to play a table the table loads, then when I hit play I get an error that saye Visual Pinball has encountered an error and needs to close. After opening the error report I get:

Exception Information
Code: 0xc00000005 Flags: 0x0000000
Record 0x0000000000000 Address: 0x000000000408f44


I realize this is abstract, but I was hoping someone would have some idea of how to get past this.

Welcome back Joe. Seems that VP and possibly VPin MAME have expired on you. You need to download both of the latest versions from http://www.pinballnirvana.com/index.php?name=UpDownload&req=viewsdownload&sid=5 and you should be OK. You'll also need the latest VBS files, which you'll also find there. As for VP, download the VP7 Unexpiring EXE, and replace your current VP EXE with the new one. As for VPinMAME, simply download it and install it, and it will replace your current version automatically.

About the VBS files you mentioned: Are they the files on pinball nirvana, the same page as the V7 VP? The fonts etc....

No, I fogot they were moved the VPM section, so I've attached them here for you. Unzip them into the same folder with your VPM tables.

Tried all that. I am still getting the same error as my earlier post. Any more ideas?

I believe i used to receive error messages like that when i ran out of memory on my machine. I would try to uninstall VP, reboot and re-install then try to load a VP only game that doesn't require much processing power.
What are your system specs?

I have tried unistalling, then rebooting. Also just rebooting. My system specs:

XP Professional
Ver 2002
Service Pack 2

Dell Latitude d800
Processor 2 G
1 G ram
34.5 G left on HD

Anyway make sure you have Windows Scripting Host installed properly. Sometimes it doesn't work right from the OS setup. You can get a separate version for your OS somewhere at MS.

Then make sure you have done a full installation of VP. You can use 6.1 to do that and keep that version (you need the unexpiring version). Or then replace only the VP.exe with unexpiring version 7 from here.

Please try file new from VP and press play button. Does that simple table run or do you get error messages too?

XP sp2 is service pack 2.
