Lord Knows How Many Years After?

:guitar:Thanks again SLEEPY for another link to the past. That song sounded really good on my laptop even! It takes me back to Rehobeth Beach on the Delaware shore. It was there, with a pocket full of nickles, I developed my passion for the silver ball. :appl:Thanks and peace to Alvin Lee...

For sure, A Lot of my pinball nostalgia is wrapped around music.
The 70's. Supertramp/Crime of the Century.

Playing Mata Hari while blasting Foreigner/Cold as Ice, or Bob Dylan/Isis from his "Desire" album.

Playing Firepower and thinking about Chic/Good Times.

Or spending $20 on a Friday night at pinball, trying to learn the game while I spent a year at Creative Services/Warner Bros. Records at their peak in 76-77, pushing Doobies and Fleetwood Mac/Rumours. I had the 12 inch limited edition single of "Go Your Own Way" at one time.

There was a dude from WEA right next door who used to pop in on the Warner/Reprise side where I worked. This was in '77.
He was a dead ringer for Dennis Wilson, and The Beach Boys were on Warner/Reprise then.

He would frequently discuss "The Jimi Hendrix Revival".
This of course was about 7 years after Jimi's death.

I was also there the day that Elvis died, but the WB folks weren't shook at all.
It was as if they expected it given the insider knowledge of his drug use.
Elvis of course was on the RCA label, but still, he was a major performer.

Alvin Lee's death was even more of a shock to me. I just finished rewatching Martin Scorsese's The Blues documentary in which Lee is interviewed during the section covering the '60s British blues-mania. And then, a month later, he's dead. I remember being blown away by Ten Years After when seeing the Woodstock movie as a teen. A really underrated guitarist.
