Rendering Problem...Scapino? or others

Hi guys, I was running out of room on my main harddrive so I moved vp and vpm and temp1 and future along with a main downloads folder to my secondary drive of 500gigs. Between Future Pinball and VP/VPM I had about 18 gigs of tables etc.
I have rechecked everything but I cant get the reels to display anymore. The tables load but the flippers and lights and all are littered with crazy boxes and arent rendering properly. I have VP8.1 and VPM2.1 loaded and have checked the paths. Older tables and originals work fine. Is this a video hardware acceleration problem. I have a 1gig HD ATI Radeon 4650 running on winxp 2nd edition. Other than moving the folders from one drive to the other. and changing the drive letters for the paths in pinmame. I have tried reinstalling etc. I think In the past I have used a speedfix from Kurt aka Scapino, but that was with the VP6.1 I believe where it ran a batch file that turned off hardware acceleration and then turned it back on again. I may be mistaken though. I thought that VP8.1 had fixed this problem. I have checked my Video card properties and have set it for performance rather than quality and..use application settings for AA, and other video settings. IF there is something I am missing let me know. I assumed that the funtionalithy would be the same between drives, but almost every rendered light, is boxed, jaggy, and the lights are jaggy also.

This sounds like the old ATI glitch to me.

Can you lower the GFX hardware accelleration and see what that does?

This usually helps for others that have this problem so it cant hurt to try,...

Yep, went back into the graphics video properties and had all of them checked for application settings, but there was a couple that were scaled up higher than normal, closer to quality instead of performance. I unchecked application settings, adjusted it all the way down to performance, then switched it back on to application settings and it worked so far in the three games that I checked.

Thanks Phoenixx, that was the third time in my video card properties, so I kinda figured that the ATI was the problem, but figured the USE APPLICATION SETTINGS BOX was checked and didnt bother seeing where the slider was on two of the eight or so different video settings. So for any others, even if it is checked use application settings, the video card could force its settings if that video option doesnt natively reside in your application/program.
Funny thing is I wasnt sure that it was going to work after switching so I tried Ultracade settings first, and when that worked I thought it was a problem with VP physics. then when I switched it back to verify that it was a vp problem only to discover that it was the two or three sliders in my video card properties that did the trick. THe ultracade physics are awesome but in my Disarmageddon 1.32 table the ball got stuck up in the extra ball ramp. The wildness of the ultracade though is cool, its not as predictable as the vpphysics, good or bad!!!

Glad to hear you have found a way to make it work.

I actually meant to lower the hardware accelleration via the DXDiag Panel, but if it works just as well with these driver settings, even better.
