Gottlieb Ship ahoy (Gottlieb, 1976) problem

Im new to pinball machines but trying to learn what I can. I have a ship ahoy it worked for the most part , It will not feed the ball at the start of A new game it will count the ball when pushed threw manually and play normal until the next ball , could it be the ball return relay ? I also noticed the ship wheel does not spin as it should it lights up the ten but never spins. sorry I don't know all the names for all the components yet I'm working on it

seems there are two different ship ahoys out there
I am hoping that you have the newer one made in 1976
and not the one made in 1935

unfortunately you picked a rarity as no manuals exist for it on their site
even for the High Seas pin which is the same one as yours

ship ahoy is a add a ball machine. i find them harder to work on compared to credit unit machines. check out the step units in the hesd for proper operation. clean and adjust if needed. the ball return relay not pulling in might be your problem. find it on your schematic and troubleshoot its circuit. ship wheel lights are controled by a small step unit under playfield.
