Jay Phillips ("Gottlieb") and friends also have some fantastic re-creations over at VPGD.net. Attached is a screenie from Doozie (Williams, 1968).

I recommend anyone snag these before they go offline. Here's the table list.

Haven't talked to Jay for ages, but I'll try to see if he'd be willing to let us mirror them here.

Ho esaminato alcune ricreationi (Polo (Gottlieb 1970) ,Doozie(Williams1968),CLv101 e altre) sono realizzate con VP8. e sono tutte protette, cioè non sono modificabili sia nella grafica che nello script. Non sono quindi utilizzabili da me per l'attivita' di conversione daVP8 a VP9. Saluti dall'Italia Furio

Daffy and Doozie are really spectacular (recreated in 2004). Spirit of 76 is also a damned good recreation.
The only problem is the technic used not really friendly with tall screens.

Good news. From what I understand, @greynurse also found or created VP9 versions. I'll try to track these down in coming days and weeks, hopefully to get them all uploaded here.

Ah right, it's the same as the Kristian & Scapino method, no? Uses a huge, photorealistic decal on the backglass IIRC.
