Slingshot, ball feed, bumpers questions

I hope someday to be able to play Gottlieb's All-Star Basketball on my cab. To that end I made a copy and did some edits on an FP existing table from the era. I only became aware of virtual pinball in the last month and I must say considering I have no programming or scripting experience I was pleased to get a playable layout similar to ASB with a minimum of effort.

That leads to my questions. I'm sure there will be more if anyone is willing to answer.
1) When I started moving a linear two post slingshot I found it had four rubbers in it. What is the reasoning behind that?
2) Is there logic behind the placement of the dots on the rubbers? Can you add or delete dots?
3) Can you locate the leaf switches that fire the slingshot and if so how should they be positioned?
4) How do I get the ball to originate from the left side of the ball channel like the old wood rails?
5) How do I make scoring only bumpers, not pops?

I'll stop for now but thanks for any help. If there is a great tutorial and I'm just slacking by asking, please let me know. For instance I have no idea how to change artwork on a PF.

If you have no programming experience, it is best not to start such complex projects. I once tried to learn programming, but I wasn't keen.
Isn't live pinball better than virtual pinball? I think so :)

It is probably something the table developer tried. I have not seen it before.

2) Is there logic behind the placement of the dots on the rubbers? Can you add or delete dots?

Many objects had dots (shape points) when you right-click on them. They are used to shape the object.

3) Can you locate the leaf switches that fire the slingshot and if so how should they be positioned?

The only option is to right-click on the shape point for the kicker in the center and change it to a single leaf.

4) How do I get the ball to originate from the left side of the ball channel like the old wood rails?

5) How do I make scoring only bumpers, not pops?

i pretty sure i have seen this in many VP and Pinmame tables.
i tried removing the multiple rubbers and use 1 sling rubber, change the high and low height to 40/20.
i did this so i could make changes easier so i didn't need to change all the slingshots rubber in the object menu.
sometimes it worked and sometimes it didnt.
the sling didn't work at all.
I did have the sling rubber on "slingshot", not smooth.
i tried changing 1 rubber slingshot but it didnt work. i had to change all of them.
i kicked that copy to recycle and got a new copy and left it alone.
1. so why did the slings work with 1 rubber on some and not the other tables with high and low height at 40/20 and rubber visible?
2,. on some tables it's all or nothing. why do i need to change all of the slings?
3. is there a way around this so i can use 1 sling rubber?
