Here it is another table for you :)

This is actually a special version in which I have not used the standard plastics and ramps from the original table. Instead I have used normal "standard shaped" plastics as found on older pinball and wire iron ramps. I have also added a few extra flashers not found on the real table. Still the gameplay should be the same. My idea with these changes was to make a table which was less cluttered and easier to follow the ball movements.

Press "R" to get a short list of rules, or read the table info for a longer explanation.

There are two "cartoon" images which you can use to replace the playfield and the backdrop, if you prefer that:

Playfield - normal picture if "PF", change it with "PF_cartoon"
Backdrop - normal picture is "backdrop", change it with "backdrop_cartoon"

I developed the table using VP8 but it uses the standard VPsettings, not the UC physics. The table is nearly angle independent with just a few flashers on the back, which will be easier to move if you want to change the view (of course you'll need to redo the backdrop :) if you change the view).

It is a very fun table with a lot of targets to shoot at. I think it is an easy table to understand, since the DMD and the voices tell you what to do or what to shoot at. Even without reading the rules it was quite easy for me to understand the table.

The table uses fading lights, based on PD's fading light system, and it may stutter a little during multiball or when everything is flashing. This is because of the many big lights found on the table. You may turn off the fading lights by editing the script, you'll find the line to change at the beginning of the script. But why you would like to do that? :)

Well, I won't bore you with more text, just get the table from here and have some fun :D

JP, your a re-creation machine ... fine work, as usual.

thanks

love the table, the sounds......all great job done there.
but when i see the "orginal" flinstones, and see this one.
it feels a bit cold. (as it looks/feels like : w.i.p.)
I'd love to see all the cottages and buildings of the flinstons to make/feel/look this table more complete. (pleasssssssssssseeee pleaseeeeee)

Hey...dont get me wrong : all the other things of the table are just fine :)
love your tables :) (all the others don't bother me at all).

greets from holland :)

It's a matter of taste I guess. Personally I think it looks great, a big improvement compared to the imo more childish looks of the real table. But I can imagine you miss something when you are used to the table.
Just like seeing someone with contact lenses after wearing glasses for years.
I'm sure you will get used to the new Flinstones :)

Thanks for release,JPsalas.Magnificent
work,as usual. :thumleft:

Great work JP , I don't come online for a few days and when I come back on you've finished it already :D
It looks and plays great , I can't wait to see what you have for us next ;)
You are the master of machines LOL
Thanks so much for your hard work and time ...

Matt :)

Thanks for the Flintstones, JP. A fun table and a fabulous recreation of it here.

I'm going to try to dress it with the plastics. Thanks for permission to do that.

I have a WIP thread of that MOD here and have not yet touched the gameplay or the script, just deleted the Dino-Crane ramp and replaced it with a basic one on another path.

Sorry to everybody that I started posting that stuff here in JP's release thread. That was wrong of me, and my only excuse is the excitement that these tables bring.

Go ahead Shockman and release the MOD! :)
I'm sure many people will be happy to have the full Flintstones view.

Thanks JP.

It's getting harder, the farther I go, But I don't forsee any roadblocks any more. Perhaps a bit of sacrifice though.

I'm going to double up the rubbers on the machine, but I don't know if I can put rubber on the grinder blades without slowing it down. That's a lot of walls you are using for the rubber. Being angle dependent, I could probably use a single side mapped wall for those. I play it as muck as I work on it, both to make sure i did not break playability, and I just enjoy playing it. I'm going to go with the original yellow flipper and red rubber.

The machine works perfectly. You did a spectacular job on it. Actually typical JP work though. Can't wait to see the final guns on STTNG.

Good Shockman!
About the rubbers on the machine, I think the best will be to use a single wall with a gradient on the side. A single extra dropwall won't be too much work for the pc.
I guess I got a standard way to make things in VP, so all my tables play more or less the same. Remember that I'm not a pinball player, so many tables need some adjustments to make them behave a little more like the originals. IMHO I think VP is a really great program, even with its limitations it's still the best pinball simulation program.

I guess Groni will have soon time to finish the rendered cannons for STTNG, he has been really busy with his BTTF. I got an email from him telling me that he hasn't forgotten the cannons and he will continue with them soon.

the effort you go to is fantastic, thankyou for your hard work

I like it 'stripped' like this

for me it's easier for me to see the ball without all the extra plastics mucking my vision all up. Sure, it's looks a tad 'flatter' but I can actually see the ball, now and not have to guess at where it is!

Hi to All
Please, how to configure this machine to "1 Coin --> 1 credit ?"
I Dont find this option :(
its possible ?

Thank.

Macgaiver - I asked the same question here, but don't have an answer yet.

From what I have found, you have to set the dip switches to Export, and I know the DIP configuration to do that on the real machine - but not how to do it in VP/VPM.

It should be easy for anyone familiar with building and modding tables, but I'm just a new (well, returning) end-user.

Ummm, the table is very difficult to find... :) From the download section!

Now about the one coin question, I just press the keys 3, 4 or 5, and usually one of them does the job. If you really want to change the settings then usually you press the END key and then you press 0,9,8,7 or 6 keys until you find the right menu, usually Adjustments. To change some values you may need to press the keys 1 or Enter.

JP - it's an honor talking to you ...

Could you look at my other thread linked above.

I went through all the coin menus and I got the 5 key to work with two presses per play, but not 1 press per play.

Apparently, to set custom pricing in the game you have to set the dip switches to export and I found out how to do that in the real table, but not in the VPM virtual one.

Also, if you don't mind, could you look at my questions here - I think it's an easy question for a table designer, but I'm lost ...

@ Tiger-Heli: I have answered you question about the DMD in the other thread.
About the coin, I guess it is in the adjustments, but in this table I should press 4 and get to plays :)

JP

4 and play works and setting 2 plays per $1 and pressing 5 twice works.

As I said, I'm pretty sure setting the 6 and 8 dip switches to "1" and all others to "0" will allow custom pricing and then you can set 1-coin per play, but as the table author you should understand the table as well as anyone and if that can't be easily done, I guess I'll have to live with pressing 5 twice!!!

It's a really fun table though - thanks again for all your work on it!

I may make VP tables, but that doesn't make me an expert in real pinball tables :) Actually I know close to nothing about real pinballs :) I didn't know that modern tables used dip switches, I thought only the older tables had those switches, as I said I know very very little about real tables.
