Great article.
The author mentions a strobe light in the backglass of Flash Gordon.
I'm not sure if there were earlier incarnations of strobes on pinball machines,
but the first incarnation of it that I know of was an off-the-shelf retrofit strobe light box added to a Williams Flash that would be triggered by the Thunder and Super Thunder awards when completing the target bank.
