LOL! Challenge accepted! You're full of crap! I'm just trying to imagine Marion Wayne banging away at Carly Simon. That would be almost on par with Gloria Steinem doing the "reverse-cowgirl" atop of ol' Tricky Dick. Of course, that would be about the only way she could probably do it. I mean, damn... who would want to look at Nixon when they were having sex?

Full of crap, sure. But consider this. "You walked into the party like you were walking onto a yacht" is like his walk. His scarf and hat, his "One Eye" and how they dreamed that "They'd be your Partner, They'd be your Partner", could be some of that "Cowboy and Rooster Cogburn" stuff that he was known for. Well, Giddy up, Partner.

My Sister once told me that one of her teachers knew him. The teacher ran a home movie in class, and Duke Wayne was seen partying on his Yacht, drunk and throwing up over the railing. Witness his "Wild Goose":

The lyric, "You had one eye in the mirror as, You watched yourself Gavotte" is interesting. There is a song from the musical, "My Fair Lady". Titled, "Ascot Gavotte". It is about a horse race.

The Duke was married three times, and the tabloids consider him to have been a womanizer.

And I was skeptical at first on the thought. But then The Stones, "Starfucker" says,

But you know. Maybe "Cookie" was only fantasizing. Maybe she made the whole thing up?

Well, that's a pretty bandana-looking scarf! I think the word you and Carly are looking for is "cravat"... and Marion would never wear a cravat! No, that's not for the man who told Kirk Douglas that playing Vincent Van Gogh would make him look like a sissy. Seriously... no one likes cravats. The Stones "Under Assistant West Coast Promotion Man" says

Carly could have easily turned to Mick during the "Vain" recording sessions and asked "What's a six-letter word for 'scarf'?"

Next thing I know, arne, you're gonna try to convince me that 50-year-old Sinatra was banging 20-year-old Mia Farrow! Ridiculous!

Yes Bill. You are sharp. According to the Wikipedia, "Over the years Simon has divulged "letter clues" and has claimed that the subject's name contains the letters A, E, and R".
At the release of the song and in her new book, she claimed/claims that the song is about three men.

John Wayne contains no "R". But Marion Michael Morrison does, as does Warren Beatty and Sean Connery.

My Sister never mentioned a cravat. Only that The Duke wasn't wearing his toupee.
