This is a mod of JP's vp9 version of TOTAN.

Added transparent ramps, Upgraded a lot of the textures with plastics scans. Darkened the textures and added gi lighting effects.

This is the 2 step (gi on/off) night version.

I also made an 8 step fading gi lighting version and cabinet fullscreen versions, but it requires a video card with at least 1gb of video memory. If you are interested in the 8 step version please pm me.

I hope you enjoy and thank you jp for giving permission for this release.

The screenshot looks really great!!!

I have to try the table soon. Thanks.

looks lovely.
reason for me to fire up VP!

JP,
I keep getting an error saying: cannot create offscreen surface....

What happened???

Wow, the table looks really dark. I'll check it out asap. Thanks :)

Very nice job! It's a fun change of pace, but I still prefer the day version as it seems easier to play in the daytime. Nice ramps, nice ball image.

Thanks!

JP,
I keep getting an error saying: "cannot create offscreen surface".... I am using vp-9...any ideas??

Thanks...

Nice. I'll have to try this one now.

mastercontrol, try changing your resolution in VP.

The McD

what is the optimum resolution that everyone is using??? Just so you know all the other vp-9 tables work, but NOT this one...

what is your graphics card? I use a 9800gtx+ 1gb in my pin cab and a 250gtx 1gb in my desktop, so this is the only hardware I have to test on. I don't get any errors on this version or the version with 8 step fading gi lights. I do know that not having enough graphics memory will cause this error. I released the 16:9 cabinet version on another forum and haven't gotten any error reports. if jps original plays for you an this one doesn't it is most likely due to the graphics memory. I upgraded and added some higher resolution textures to the table. I'm not sure what to suggest. maybe if you could give me your system specs I could better suggest something.

JP,

Same here. But turning off HW acceleration makes it play, but in slow motion

Because he saved his bmp files as 32 bit, instead of 24 bit. You have to export the images, resave all the bmp files to 24 bit, and then reimport them. Should work then

I already told him when he released the betas. These are remodified images by the person who did the mod, so it would be up to him.

I guess unclewilly will convert the images to 24 bit if he feels for it. Otherwise just use any of the free tools available on the net.
I think the only ones that need to be in 32 bit are the images used to make the transparent ramps, but I may be wrong, since I haven't tested very much those transparent ramps.

@unclewilly: Nice mod! :) Some objects are too high in this view, but I guess you made the table for your cabinet in FS mode, so they must be higher to look good.

JP

having a problem getting it to load.

here is what I am getting, the ball speed is 60 in the coding. I don't know what or where the problem is. anyone?

I exported the BMP's and converted them to JPG, but I still get the same error " cannot create offscreen surface"

all of the .bmp textures I added to the table were saved as 24bit, I'm checking with kingb33, but I believe all his textures were 24bit also. so if 32bit is the problem it is in one of jps original textures. there are almost double the amount of textures, so if you don't have enough video memory you will also get this error.

can anyone who is having this issue please leave your video card specs.
I believe you will need at least 512mb of video card memory in order for the table to run. a fair amount of people I know are running the table fine on a 512 card.
the problem with vp9 for me at least is that it is very picky with certain hardware.

yes jp, the heights are a little off as I initially made the mod for my pinball cabinet. I just made a few adjustments and added a darkened version of your backdrop so the 4:3 useres could play the table also.

I have an GF 7600 GS card with 256 MB RAM, so I guess this card can't run the table properly

intel graphics here and it IS vp9 I run it through vp9, purposefully to keep it separate from my vp8 tables. This is one of a few pins that do this, most of them unfortunately are JP's

found a solution (kind of) what I do is load a jp table then start a new table too. select everything on the new table, delete it, go back to jp table that won't 'create offscreen surface' copy entire table go back to new table and pasts it into there, go into his script, copy it and again paste it into the new table, check hardware rendering uncheck antialias on ball and all those other goodies in that same menu. save. close vp9 then reopen it and reload this new table. mine always works this way. tedious? hell yeah! Pain in the arse? most certainly, but it works don't know why but it does :p
