Is there a catch on how to get vp working on windows7?
If there is... please share it with me :).

I've found the answer in the COMPATIBILITY TAB of VPinball.exe .
For those who don't know, you have to find the VPinball.exe inside the directory you have installed VP, and then right click on it, go to properties at the bottom of the context menu and choose compatibility tab. There, you must check the box that says: "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" Windows XP with SP2".

Yep, it's the Right-Click on the .exe or shortcut and choose "Run as administrator", and then if it doesn't run, then also try the Right-Click > Compatibility mode as you suggested.
