Hi

I've been playing around with some VP9 tables I got (from a reliable source) recently , but I have an issue of bgm and sound effects not working for some reason

There 'is' sound , but only basic sfx like flippers and ball effects , but all the table special sound effects , samples and music is missing

Some examples to the tables are ;

Addams Family, The (Bally)(1992)(melon)(2.0)[VP91x]
Scared Stiff (Bally)(1996)(JPSalas)(1.4.4)[VP91x]
Class of 1812 (Gottlieb)(1991)(JPSalas)(1.0)[VP912]

and few others

I haven't seen any 'music' folder that you have to copy to music directory of VP so I assume all the music and sfx are included in the .vpt table file

For testing I have loaded VP8 versions of the same tables I had on my hd and they run fine with music and all

I tried changing the volume with 8-9 keys , with no avail

Anyone have an idea on the issue ? Are these meant to be played with minimal sound effects only ?

Thanks

Ok for 2 of the tables I have an nvram attachment for you.
Place content of zip files in your nvram folder, located in your VPinMAME folder.

For the Class of 1812 table you will need to do a little work.
This table has the scoring LED's built in.
So we need to get the PinMAME window to show, to attempt this next step.

First..
Load table into editor and go into script
and you will see on Line 59...

.Hidden = 1

Change that to...

.Hidden = 0

Now start table up.
Now you should see the PinMAME window.
You will need to click on this PinMAME window with your mouse and click the Tilde key.

This will open up volume options that can be toggled with arrows.

Right arrow turns up the volume, Left...
I don't know about VP9 but in any case check here (again, can't find this info at PN). Not all manufacturers seem to be the same.

Of course, you also have the .vpx version of those tables which are probably more up to date.

Thanks , will check it out

Sadly , even after altering the volume in-game , there is no music and effects

Are there any seperate sliders for bgm and effects anywhere in vpm ?

Vpx versions work with music but a bit too much luck to be enjoyable :(

Have you tried hitting your + key while game is running?
The minus key lowers volume, and plus key raises it.

EDIT:
If that doesn't work, try this nvram attachment.
Place contents of zip file in your nvram folder (Located in your VPinMAME folder), and overwrite when asked.

Nope , for the time being :(
I was referring to what you said "but a bit too much luck to be enjoyable".

What luck? You mean the vpx version are too hard?

Right arrow turns up the volume, Left arrow turns down the volume.
Press the down arrow for more volume options.

When you are finished, simply hit the tilde key.

This is called the Tilde Key Method.
This is for the tables that didn't have a rom volume adjustment, as they only had a volume knob inside cabinet.
