Why can I not shoot the ball when running Road Show?

Solution
Ah, whoops. I think I see the problem. Looks like you're using this version, or one close to it, but you're trying to run it in VPX, right?

Unfortunately, VPX & VP9 are generally not backwards-compatible with older VP versions. When you look at that table entry, note the light green "VP8" tag. That means you'll need to run that under VP8, or else use a more modern table if you want to run it with modern VPX.

If your system is decent, then you almost certainly want to try a VPX version. Here's one that does both desktop and full-screen. I'm guessing you don't have a cab, and in that case, you want to try the "DT" version:

Red and Ted's Road Show (Williams)(1994)(Knorr-ClarkKent)(1.1)[VPX02][DT+FS]DOF arngrim]

Remember, it always helps to specify as many details as possible, such as table version & author.

In any case, some tables simply need to boot once to get a couple internal files built. You can take care of that by either quitting and restarting the table, or by pressing "F3" to restart MAME while the table is running.

If those don't work, pressing "B" should add an extra ball to the trough, which might possibly help.

Let us know how that goes.

Version: 1.2.0

Author(s): Jamin

I hit F3 but it didn't seem to do much of anything! I restarted the table which got me to the working DMD and sound effects and voices but I was not able to shoot the ball even after adding an extra ball to the trough!

Is this the right table version? Which author should I look for?
