Bally World Cup Soccer (Bally, 1994) Lockdown bar latch doesn't work

1994 World Cup Soccer........yellow lockdown bar latch won't re-latch. I tried the two screw adjustments, no help. Any ideas?

Make sure your playfield is all the way down and not hung up or pinching something.

is the glass slid in all the way?
if it ain't the lockbar may be catching on the edge of it
also check where the glass slides into the metal thing
at the top edge at the back of the pin if it gets bent
or has dirt or crap in it that may be holding the glass
and not letting it slide all the way in

with playfield glass removed and playfield lifted up you might get a better look inside the machine of where the trouble is.
