Bally Xenon (Bally, 1980) problem

I got a bally vintage 1980 that I just can't seem to get working the machine will turn on , make sounds, score when thumbed ,but none of the solenoids want to cycle when in test mode , the knocker seems to be the only solenoid that cycles like it should this game was working very well before this problem I have replaced all the boards with new ones except for the lamp driver and have replaced the power supply with no luck there are no obvious signs of anything wrong under the playfield I 'm dead in the water here

Man...You replaced all those boards...Still using factory boards? This is not your original problem? I guess your CPU is running fine ? It must be to run solenoids test. I'm wondering about a solenoid ground connection common to all coils. What is it that makes the knocker circuit different? Does that game have safety switch on coin door? What about an a/c relay circuit in that game: are any flash lamps working? Going to see if IPDB has your schematic...C_S

have you checked the under playfield fuse and fuse holder( located in between flippers ). this fuse is in line with the playfield coils common return wire. so it protects the playfield coils but not the flipper coils. the fuse holder used is like the em style and would loosen with age. pinching the fuse holder clips sometimes makes their grip stronger or may crack off an already worn clip.to check out playfield coil amp draw look at my responce to solenoid fuse blowing to hook up a ammeter with alligator leads to fuse clips
