4 GB patch for Future Pinball and BAM

Support File Tutorial BAM FP 4 GB patch for Future Pinball and BAM. A must have! v1.0.0.1

No permission to download
Future Pinball
If you don't want any problems... simply don't use any version of FuturePinball.exe except the normal version, and have both FuturePinball.exe and FPLoader.exe patched for 4 GB. DO NOT use other versions. It's not worth the wasted time and problems you will eventually have.

If you want to replace the FP logo completely with no logo on loading, etc.... then you need to do so with a default.zip file of the default FP assets (placed in the BAM folder, you can get this from BAM web site). In the default.zip file, you need to replace all image files that have the FP logo with a transparent image instead. You can also combine the contents of the FizX 1K Ball model default.zip with this file (overwrite the model files with the FizX model files).
Exactly the answer I was looking for.
so, the default zip should contain the fp loading logo?
that may be by the nologo versions crash, maybe they are modified to not even look for the image? im using the same default.zip and i have logo and no logo fp.exe files that show or dont show without changing the default.zip file. that tells me the fp.exe is most likely modified to skip the image contained in the default.zip
make sense?

I don't think you read the following line in my linked posting:

"To remove the Future Pinball logo from the table loading screen, download the third attachment to this topic (default.zip). Do not extract the ZIP file. Save the file as is to the following folder:

C:\Games\Future Pinball\BAM"

Alternate exe files may or may not make FP crash. It doesn't on mine but there are no guarantees that it won't make FP crash on other PCs. I can however guarantee that the zip file on the linked posting will remove the logo from the table loading screen on your PC and it won't crash.
i read it, it was only talking avout the futurepinball.exe. i knew about the default zip files and I dont extract them. if it was that easy to replkace a image in the default.zip i wonder why someone would go through the trouble of removing code from the exe...? they have to be modified exe files because they remove the logo wit
h the regular default.zip file

I did notice I have 2 exe files... a 1.1.200
9, a v1.1.2013 the old version is actually a larger file.

I see the added updated guide.... I should have known from last year about the exe files. You explained what differances you found with the exe files.
I think that exe is a no logo version that I flagged 64 bit. so it is a modified exe.
do I load the default.zip models into fp editor? i never really messed with that zip file
also modifying models, what about reality.dat is there a tool to modify examine that .dat file other than bam?

Forget FP history as it is not important.

Nowadays there's only one way to install FP: from Ravarcade website download the 2in1 install.
Everything else needed can be read on Terryred's excellent guide.

I understand the historical value of having older stuff preserved (as I'm 100% for it) but it should be made very clear inbold big red letters that those are to be used "at own risk" :) and on separate installs.

Actually, any table with BAM should only use ravarcade .exe's (please correct me if i'm wrong)

/edit
I'm attaching a default.zip that should be placed inside your BAM folder. It has the 1k ball included so you may want to back it up and delete the MODELS folder.

Note that this will be applied to ALL TABLES loading screen (no more FUTURE PINBALL all over).

To remove the watermark on the bottom right of the screen while playing you have to call BAM Menu and disable it there (I don't recall the exact sub menu at the moment.

You bring up a good point Terry for 32bit OS's. I think we could go around that problem by having two packages, one 32bit (the normal current package), and the other 64bit (RAM patched exe's).

That is if Rav would want to do this but I think it should be simple and not time consuming.

However AnonTet might be also right for the legal issue. By changing the exe to use more ram, you are indeed modifying original code and how it behaves. But it could be fine if we think of it as a mod. Your not appropriating code for another use, or changing the purpose of the software for what it was originally made for, you are just fixing it. So in that sense I think it should be fine. Still for Rav to decide though but it would make it easier for anyone new wanting to play FP/Bam with future tables that require more ram.
flagging for more ram, not changing code = not modified. running admin mode is flagging the file to be allowed controlled folder access. Cant be any more ""illegal"" than having golden earings music on playing with the tz table.
and seriously, will someone be that anal?

The exe was developed long before we had BAM. BAM adds the content of the zip to memory. There is no need to do anything else. All of us are basically saying the same thing. Anon attached the same file to his message you can download from the link below. You need to delete all the exe files that you have except the default. I don't know where you got the v1.1.2013 file but it does not work. I don't think you got it from my download because all the FP.exe files that I posted work on my PC. The only thing different that I said from the others is that you could try the Version 2.4 FP.exe that you can download here:

The other guys don't believe in using the alternate FP.exe files but I do use them. If you are going to try alternate exe files, only use the ones I posted.

there is the original futurepinball.exe and one more original developes. that are those build numbers.
i see a ton of info. all i wanted to know was what the version number of the most current Original there was.
i see its 1.9.1 2010.123

I'll repeat this again to make it clear.

No one (who just plays tables) should be using anything except for the original FuturePinball.exe (from the FP website, or ravarcade's 2 in 1 installer). Patch both FuturePinball.exe and FPloader.exe for 4 GB access. No other FP exes at all. Using other FP exes has and will lead to other unforseen problems. DO NOT use other versions of the FuturePinball.exe.

If you just want the FP watermark gone, then do that in the BAM menu (Addons - Hide FP Logo = yes).

If you can't deal with seeing he FP logo while a table loads, then try this:

- download the default.zip from ravarcade's site
- place default.zip in BAM folder
- copy files from FizX 1K physics ball zip into default.zip file (overwrite existing files)
- you now have a default.zip with ALL of FP's default assets and the default ball model with be the FizX 1K ball model for ALL tables
- to "hopefully" replace the FP logo for loading, you need to look at "every" image file in default.zip and replace any FP logo it with a transparent image. If this still doesn't work for the loading screen, then that is all you can do

Keep in mind, the default.zip can be used to replace the default assets for ALL tables automatically. If you want different "default" Game Room models / textures / DMD dots / halo glow for lights / alphanumeric display segments, etc.... to be used for all tables that use them, then default.zip is where you would replace those files.

Maybe I'm showing my age but the alt exes still work for me so I still use them but that doesn't mean anyone else has to.

You do more than just "play tables" (you mod / update them), and you don't use other setups (cabinet, vr, etc) and don't use other apps / features (dof, pup, dmdext, doflinx, etc). That's why you don't see the same problems I've seen over the years.

For everyone else, there is no "benefit" to use any other exe. 4 GB access / object limits / FP logo is no longer an issue. Ravarcade builds BAM and tests it using the original FP exe. That is what everyone should be using.

do all the exe files work on twilight zone 1.03?
Now thats frickin weird? maybe graphic card? its not amd intel issue as mine crash on both
also the i5 has a hd4600 gfx card and my ryzen has the 1070ti
Terry, what benefit would the modded files offer cab users..?
on a low end system before the new bam and the fizx i always thought the zed exe ran things better on my i5
but its been a long time and many other exe files had made their way to that cab, however i formatted and redid everything with coin ops etro arcade with a pinball section i added and it shutters like hell.
so now im going back to pinup, accept i couldnt ever get pinball arcade to work right .

OH, before I forget. anyone running secure boot and windows (s) mode and hyperv and sanboxes, they cant use ravs 2in1 installer,or bam... the original futurepinball installer works so atleast that gets the registry enteries in, then they can just unzip and add the bam folder it will create any reg keys needed, thats what I did.
I dont think pinup installed either, i added the vbs files and used the bat for the reg keys for pinup, but i only run single screens, im not sure if that will effect your pinup tables in s mode because Ive never seen a full pinup table playing :(

the 1k ball , it has more polygons etc, does that apply to all balls available, knight slams, soccer ball etc, i assume it does.

sorry for a huge thread.. I was only asking what the latest original version was... and if I hadnt i would have missed the part about patching fploader as well, and I wouldnt have noticed the bam megaguide got twice the size and had all my answers...
(tail between my legs)

OK I guess I have egg on my face. I tried playing Twilight Zone on the following versions and it crashed on the bolded ones:

2.4
2.5
2.5 Release 2
2.5 slamtilt rubbers
2.6
2.7

I added a warning to my posting below that using alternate exe files can make FP crash.

Having not applied the patch yet, I started by looking for it in the FP Support Files resources section, but didn't find it.

I'm thinking it should be added as a resource entry there so it gets more visibility for people installing / updating FP/BAM.

Any thoughts and/or objections..?

As long as this thread link is left intact, I'm fine with it. (I link to here from my guides and Install Instru8ctions for tables).

its the fp.exe where the logo is removed.. not the way you guys said to do it.
actually i think one is the slam version. if i remember correctly i got it from a table pack a while back from arcadepunks

better idea Grin..... update twilight zone... im having mediation scipt errors that i havent figured out with slams.
also the fizx tutorial kinda ends at the harder parts the mechanics, im not sure what to use where, have to rermber I jumped into script modding and dont know what half the model icons are for in the editor. never had to use them, the forst half is easy but not sure what to do until I look at the editor on a updated table, then i get all jumbled with the pup and dof code.

Please stop posting about numerous things not related to this topic.

Keep FizX questions in their relevant topics.

Go back and read what I posted above. DO NOT use any of the hacked / modified FP exe files at all. Use the original FP exe included with BAM's 2 in 1 Installer, or the original Future Pinball Installer.

If you want the FP logo removed during gameplay, you do that in the BAM menu. (Addons - Hide FP Logo = yes).

For this topic.... only patch the original FP exe and FPLoader.exe for 4 GB access. Do it the right way, and don't waste your time trying anything else.

this is the best thing for FP since sliced bread, I havent had one crash whereas it used to crash all the time. and now it doesnt give that white playfield if you have to many textures

Yah, I held off trying to make it a "requirement"... but glad I did, as it makes things much nicer for creators without the glitches of using previous hacked exes... and opened up the doors for less limitations for tables. Fewer problems reported by players ever since this has been the standard as well.

Works well terry, thanks. i also accidentally used the patch on VP without any problems?

VPX (32 bit) already has this applied... and VPX is now moving to being 64 bit.
