Yeah me too... and it IS quite ironic that you have to have your PC on steroids to play Asteroids (as you said)... but unlike The Smiths and Morrisey these are like the Beatles and The Who... timeless... classic games are the best... I have played tons of new games on my PC and XBox 360 but I always come back to the classics in the end... the playability is simply unmatched in the Atari/Namco classics...!!

But this is not just emulation... the requirements here come from the "faked" vector display (which is the whole idea of this thing). I think it "redraws" the screen multiple times/second... that's why it needs a powerful card. As a huge vector game fan this was a GREAT find for me... I've been seriously looking for a real Gravitar arcade machine but my "better half" wouldn't want to see that in our city apartment...so this emulator is pretty much the best compromise I can think of...!!

I wanted to buy this from my countryman but he had sold it to UK...!! Major bummer.... I'd be willing to pay heavy cash for a machine in that condition (and perhaps even get rid of the "wifey" (if needed)....it's all about priorities in this life....!!

Thanks Da Prez, that looks like it exactly. I wonder where it is, I am thinking I have it somewhere on some cd or something. Maybe I had a trial demo of it and it expired. Or it could possibly be on one of my long gone PC's that I gave away or shelved!!.

Eh, who needs 'new' hardware, runs at a full 60fps here, with my near on 4 year old rig....

1 single core AMD Sempron 3100+ (1.8Ghz) running Window XP SP3, with 1 GB DDR400 memory and a nvidia 6800GS 256MB.

Thanks Kristian that would be great. No I only have the pinball mame, though I thought I downloaded Mame for the Other games.

Is there one good version of Mame that runs these games?? If You would please send me that program or provide a freeware link, with the Arkanoid rom that would rule!!

Thanks I have a folder MAME on my 500gig harddrive LOL with the win32 version in it.
I have the arkanoid Zip file in the rom folder within MAME.
I am having trouble getting my mouse to work under player 1 controls. There is an extensive list to map the buttons, probably for the Xarcade joysticks, buttons and mouse at the end.
I am pretty much lost. Can someone tell me how to use the mouse for x-axis (left,right) y-axis(up,down) and fire mouse1 or left click. I will try to read the FAQ's at the mame site in the meantime. thanks again. Really cool.

I use MAME+ but I recall the base MAME32 has the same system:

Go to Default game options -> Controls -> Enable mouse input.
