A piece of my brain must have gone to sleep; what I intend doing is to reply to a topic using quotes from multiple posts in the thread, but I'll be damned if I can make it happen. If I hit 'Quote', the Quick Reply box has the text of just that one post, and if I hit the 'multi-quote this message' icons and 'go advanced', I get the reply box with no text at all.
What ungodly simple thing have I forgotten? (Growl)

odd the quote button seems to be working fine for me and I am usually the one who can get anything to screw up
I just hit quote and it opened up the reply box with your post already in it

okay that multi quote button is indeed broken
as I hit it for this reply yet the quotes did not show up at all

Stubbornness has its place; if one can't multi-quote "x" number of posts;

1) Open a second browser window, quote a single post and then copy-paste the text from one browser's Reply box over into the other browser's Reply box.

2) Rinse and repeat as necessary.


Whoever had "two hours" guessing how long it would take me to remember that, won the pool. Anyway, I got it done.

odd as that may seem that is the ONLY way I can post now over at vpf
seems their paste feature is kaput on the posts I try to make
It can't paste at all unless I first open my windows wordpad
then paste whatever I want to post into there
THEN copy it again THEN repaste it into their message posting area
especially with other outside links they never paste correctly
at least here it happens only when trying to quote someone else
over there it's every single post I try to make

Went through some of my old posts; had to go to last May to find my last multi-quotefest (sleepy, Ike, Itchigo and I helping Shockman review VP9--- I'm pretty sure the multi-quote button was working)---and over at VPF, the copy-pasting of links works for me whether they originate on-site or outside. I can't remember the last time I used either '-pad' for anything.

EDIT: Hey, Coil_Smoke! Snuck in while I was hunting and pecking (that happens a lot, with my typing prowess). That is indeed what it's supposed to do, but for me (and faralos, apparently), it's gone dead, and I tried it again just a few minutes ago.

Coil_Smoke's suggestion is working here.

That is, click the Multiquote Icon on each post that you want to include, then click the Quote button to go to print.

Hit'em both, huh? What'll they think of next? Trying it out.....

No dice; if I hit Quote first, with or without one or more Multiquotes, I get the Reply box with only the single post's text, as before; scrolling down, I get the Topic Review, which is all posts in reverse order and no buttons to hit. However;

If I first hit Multiquote in as many posts as needed and then hit Quote, IT WORKS!! (Yay) So apparently Multiquote is just the selector, and Quote is the actuator.

Now to start a pool for how long it'll take me to forget this.....
