Auto Media Embedding

A new feature was added that will automatically embed videos, music and games from over 170 different sites by just typing or pasting the link into a post!

The old youtube and media bb codes have been removed and posts that had these tags were converted. This is a neat feature that the developer calls AME and refers to it as a she (Amy), she would cook dinner for you if she had arms..
As an example this (Great, shows BaffleBall and Ballyhoo!) youtube video was embedded into the post by simply adding the url:

If you check this post, you'll see that the "The Onion" videos do not play.
New device from Sony - Pinball Nirvana Forums

Apparently The Onion uses a third-party javascript plugin to enable their videos, and if you Right-Click the player screen in the link above, then click the "player" info in the menu, it will take you to the source of the plugin, here:
http://www.longtailvideo.com/

As a javascript plugin (.js file) it has to be downloaded from the server with the webpage to enable the player. What do you think about it? Would it be safe and reasonable to include?

Yeah something happened with The Onion vids not working with the Auto Media Embedding program, I'll need to inquire with the developer of AME.

I was able to embed the video in the referenced thread by using the embed code from The Onion, AME should work by just typing in the URL.

This thread is actually about a different program altogether, the new Videos collection link in the NavBar which allows users to post vids in categories, etc.

Clicking on any controls opens the OnionNews site, but there is no picture there, the video is actually being played in the post here at PN.

I suppose its not supposed to be doing that? Opening the OnionNews site i mean.
