Ball Images

I'm having a problem with the ball images and I need some help. When I try to change the ball images, the images look square when the tables are loaded. How do you fix this problem?

When you import a new image in VP, there is a transparency button visible in the image manager that you have to set to the color that you don't want to see, it is usually pure black or lime green or pink or something.

Also the ball image must be round, with that transparent color outside the circle. The ball is face mapped, not sphere mapped.

Ah ha!!! I was wondering what the transparent thing was there for!

I've found that some backgrounds that look black are actually a bit off, so they don't always work. One of the CDs I sent you has some cutom ball images and a text file explaining how I create them. try it yourself, it's fast and fun. As for sphere mapping, I don't have a clue.

Sphere mapping means that the ball is not portrayed as a circle. If you put decals on and it looks like the ball is rolling, the decals are actually moving which creates the sensation that the ball is rolling.

transparency. I discovered that the transparency setting isn't always what it appears to be. Sometimes white is black and black is white.. As an example look at the "BAR" of the Jailbreak table. I had to switch it because it's not set right. Among other things.

I've also discovered that BMP format vs JPG that BMP is much better looking.
Transparency doesn't seem to work with most of the JPG files I've tried importing.

Ball images jhave to be in BMP format, 64X64 pixels is the correct size. As for the transperiencis, sometimes colors are "pure" which is why it doesn't always seem to work.
