Have not been around for a while, adopting a child and parenting has taken a lot of time.
In cooperation with XPIN, I have designed a set of three plug-n-play daughter boards that will eliminate led flickering in classic bally and stern machines. They will work with any machine with the AS-2518-14, AS-2518-23 or LDB-100 lamp driver boards.
Unlike the Altek replacement lamp driver, no board change is needed. They plug directly into the existing lamp driver board. NO TOOLS REQUIRED.
Cost $50.00 per set vs $99.00 for the Altek board. With the federal government mandating that incandescent light bulbs be completely discontinued in the coming years our goal was to create a little more affordable solution to the pinball community.
Baring the creeks rising, Brett should have them at the XPIN booth at the Allentown Show. They will be available through XPinpinball.com shortly as well.
While you are at it, if you have an old Bally or Stern with 6 digit displays that you are tired of rolling the score on. Check out Xpin's 7volution displays. Replacement led score displays for the 6 digit displays that incorporates the unique ability to add the seventh digit. It will even save your high score after the machine is powered off. Available in Blue, Green, Orange, Red or White. White can be used with optional Colored gels to make virtually any color you want! These will also be available at Allentown or now at the XPinpinball.com website.
