I started getting a false positive for a trojan virus on Microsoft Defender that ships with Windows on the BAM.dll file in this version of BAM. I posted a report on Microsoft's web site for analysis and told them it has no viruses. I will let you know what they say in their response.

I have gotten a response from Microsoft. They changed the definitions and there is no longer a false positive for bam.dll. You need to update your definitions before performing a scan.

Have any of you guys tried installing the 2in1 lately? I tried it today and could not install it. It was a bit of a struggle to download because Malwarebytes kept saying it has a virus but I finally got it to download. Once I got it on my C drive, I tried to run it it with no luck at all. Once again, Malwarebytes kept saying it has a virus and I could not install it. I never used to have this problem. I suppose I could disable Malwarebytes but I think I will just do it the old way.

I assume that this may be caused by the lack of a certificate to sign BAM?

Thanks for the info George, that's one of the reasons I made sure I had everything I needed backed up so I could reinstall offline when the time came. Ms10 support ends on October 14, 2025, which I think could cause headaches for a lot of people.

Defender used to scan the BAM.dll as containing a virus on periodic scans (not real time protection). I submitted a copy of it to Microsoft and they corrected the scanner so it no longer identifies the BAM.dll as containing a virus. I guess I could do something like that with Malwarebytes. Oddly though, the BAM.dll file does not show up as a virus on Malwarebytes. It is just the 2in1 executable file that triggers it.

I replaced bam.cfg and default.cfg and it worked with your config. now for this which is the kinect v2 it will be supported by bam? and will the configuration change.

its a bitch, are you using kinect 2 from xbox one?
you need specific driver versions.
I had it working once then it dudnt because I changed something.

Finally, I did a conclusive test. But since I don't have USB 3.0 on the hardware I wanted to use for my Cab, I put the kinect v2 aside for a few years. So yeah, I should dig up some information the day I recycle my current gaming computer. I already don't remember how I did it???

not sure which ones I used, something is telling me I had t use old drivers, the 1.7 in the 360 folder.
I may just get it out this weekend and check it.
I have a Samsung odyssey + and a Quest 2 around here also. Its a faze I always forget I have it and It makes me sick when i take it off, fine while playing, but coming back to reality bothers me for about 24 hours.

make sure you use a installer monitor program so if they don't work the uninstaller can get rid of everything it installed.
I use REVOuninstaller, and monitor my installs.

i installed it a week ago and defender didnt give me any issue.
fully updated win 11 pro, checked and made sure it wasnt in an excluded folder also.

Just for your information in that Malwarebytes does not like future pinball and bam and that you must exclude these files. Failing to do so, you will get a close message show up.
