Williams Solved Demolition Man (Williams, 1994) coil power

The wife and I play at least a game almost every night before dinner (for the past 1.5yr) and really enjoy it. We notice that after the first 4-player game, the ball has a tough time making it up the ramps; almost as if the machine got tired. Thinking it might have been the flipper coils themselves, I replaced them....no difference. Could this be a main power problem? Anybody else notice this? Thanks for any insights.

Hi Arsenarp,

It is very possible it is getting tired (so to speak). Your machine has a flipptronics board in the backbox that supplies the 70 volts for the flippers. There is a Bridge Rectifier labled BR1 on that board. Replacing this component should fix the problem. When they get old, they can become weak after being on awhile.

Awesome! I found the part number 5100-09690-00 in the manual and just placed an order at Marco. The SKU they showed with a different part number, but it's 35A/400V; hope that's what I've got on there now. I'll let you know how it works out! Thanks again!

The original is a 25amp. The 35amp will do fine. You can go up but not down on these.

Demolition Man Fliptronics Board/Power Failure

I replaced the rectifier as suggested and the game worked liked it was new. Fast forward to now and the flipper toggels got weak compared to the pistol grips and then the power started getting interupted any time a button is pushed...it comes back on but continues to go out. Fliptronics board problem or something else?
