Hello, I am completely new to both pinball machines and forums, so I have no idea where to turn for help. I have a Demolition Man, and it was operating just fine, the claw was fine, but the other day I decided to clean the glass, I have had it out before, put it back, played some more, and noticed I cleaned the glass with more smudges than it had before, so back out with the glass, while I am cleaning the glass, my son decides to hand roll balls at the claw, I turn to see him doing it, and tell him not to it might trip a limit switch or something, and low and behold, after that the cryo claw starts having errors, I went through the setup and testing, and it changes errors from claw motor, to claw out of adjustment, to checking the cables, never stays the same error.
I am NOT a pin ball mechanic, but I am a mechanical and electrical inclined person, I own two motor repair shops, so I am familiar with prints and problems both mechanical and electrical. I ordered a repair manual off ebay just a few minutes ago, but I am wondering if anyone could help me out a bit?
There is nothing physically broken that I can see, the elevator did work, now it seems to be stuck UP, but no matter what, when turned on, it goes through the high player scores and will not go into free play, I tried turning off the claw to see if it could be played with it off, but no dice. Again, I have no idea if asking for help is proper on here, there is so much stuff. I live in Kansas City Missouri, and at the least if someone could point me to a legit repair outfit, that might just do the trick, as I am not sure if I have the time to fuss with it. However, I have no problem taking it down to the last nut and bolt, I own two shops, rebuild motors and controls up to 5000 HP, so I know a pin ball is very complex and knowing the industry is just as critical as mine, so if I go into repairing this thing, I am hoping someone would be kind enough to point me in the right direction first, I do appreciate any information anyone would provide. I volunteer on allexperts.com and help people with electrical issues, so I know it is more than a one word sentence, and that takes time, so in advance thank you for offering, my son is 15 and this was one of our favorite things to do together, of course he had the high score by 10 times mine, but was fussing around with it, and now feels bad, although I assured him I could take care of the problem. Again, thank you.
