I am looking for a font that is 8 dots high. The ones in the FP library go from dmd06x07p to dmd08x09p with nothing in between. I found jm_9 that I guess someone created but it only does upper case letters and no special characters. Does anyone have anything else?

Hi George, is it a particular font from a specific machine? or any font that is size 8?
Also, just wondering if the font should be 8x8 including a space; therefore a 7 dot/pixel width and 8 high?

The font is not specific to any table. There is an obvious void in the FP fonts. It seems like there should be a dmd07x08p font that would be between dmd06x07p and dmd08x09p but there is not. I am not too particular about the width though it needs to look proportionally correct with the 8 point height. I am working on the Williams Indiana Jones table and am currently using font "jm_9" that is 8 points high. Unfortunately. it does not have small case letters or any special characters. The special characters I use the most are comma, period, dash, <, >, &, ( and ). If I had something like that, I would use it on other tables also, probably others would also.

If you don't have anything like that, I would be interested in anything you might have that is 8 points high.

I'll be creating a 7 pixel tall version for TOM. I'll also be added an 8 pixel tall (tom9x9_NU) but it only has uppercase and numbers. It is actually 9 pixels tall when accounting for the comma character which drops down an extra pixel. When you say 8 pixels tall, what does the comma look like? Does it need an additional pixel height offset for it to be below the other characters?

I am interested in both fonts. The TOM9x9 font appears to have at least a few special characters. It looks pretty easy to read also.

Sounds good! I'll prioritize these two fonts and get a turnaround as soon as possible.

@GeorgeH - here are the two fonts. Remember that the second font only has numbers, a few special characters, and, and upper case letters.

I tried your fonts. I think both of your fonts are easier to read than the jm_9 that I was using. At first, I was thinking I would use
tom9x9_NU but now I am liking tom5x7_NUL_ADJ also. Everyone, which do you guys prefer for this text?

If someone else has a bold font that is 8 pixels high that includes small case letters, I would love to see it.

Readability wise with multiple lines, I prefer tom5x7_NUL_ADJ.

Thanks @madmrmax for letting me use your font! I decided to go with my previous posting. It is big enough so it can be read easily, fits the space and It has good visual appeal. It also looks good with the other fonts used. There is another frame that identifies a different menu with different keys. I am using it early in the attract mode because no one will remember all the options so it is important.
