Dunno, though it looks pretty stupid and I doubt I'll ever see one. Transportation fragility and extra space requirements of the container would suggest to me that this will be a short lived idea.

doesn't look it's any larger... more like they took some space away in the middle and changed nothing else. so aside from the .7oz lost beer, i like the idea. cold beer cans and bottles can definitely get slippery!

Ah.....should done more then glace at the link it seems, less beer for what will no doubt cost more is a deal breaker for me, though I also read it is for the local market only so rather moot.

I don't like drinking beer out of a can, but, buy my beer in economy 30 can packs
& pour into a beer glass ... so losing .7oz wouldn't work for me

I'm really not a beer snob, but I wouldn't hold a Budweiser can in my hand even if it was shaped like Kate Upton.

Only USA beer I've sampled was a Miller, I think, chilli & lime flavour
I didn't like it at all, beer just doesn't need that interference IMO, tho' I do like chile & lime in food
A trend here is to have a lemon/lime wedge in bottles of Corona ...
I ask people why & they say for the flavor ... I tell 'em that traditionally, it was to keep the flies out ...

miller and budweiser... not terrible when you're thirsty, but pretty-much crap domestic beers that people with no taste for beer drink. which is actually a lot of people. yea, and fosters is the #1 import aussie beer, and also tastes like crap as i recall. just different crap.

the USA has fantastic micro-beers and craft beers like never before, but i doubt very many make it out of the country.

I believe Foster's is/was a big seller in the UK
but I don't know of any Aussies going anywhere near the stuff, these days

Two Aussie beers I think do rival the European's
are from Tasmania, where they have access to very good spring water
& high quality hops
Cascade Premium & Boag's Premium lagers
... can't say which one's better, as I've never tried 'em both on the same day

the new cans are downsized from 12 oz. to 11.3!
I hope the prices reflect that also but I highly doubt they'll lower it
kind of like what happened to half gallon sized ice cream cartons
they got smaller also but still sell at the same price
and don't even get me started on candy bars!
these newer cans also look way more crushable
since they already got a bend in their midsection

Corona is, I'm sure, still made by the traditional methods for Corona,
but the Corona company was bought by Anheuser-Bush, yep, The Budweiser company.

sam adams to me is sort of a combo between a domestic and a microbrew. yea, it wins all those rewards, but if you have a place with a good beer selection, there should always be something a bit better.

actually i'm prolly way behind on what the really smokin ones are anymore. i can't really drink beer anymore.

Are you sure it's not just to disinfect what the flies leave on the glass?

BTW, all you Aussies; keep those documentaries comin'! Just watched the second installment of "Australia's First Four Billion Years" on PBS, and it's a helluva lot better than Dancing With The Flaking Stars.
