Earth's population to hit 7 billion people

From a population of 6 Billion People to a population of 7 Billion People in just 12 years time.

The Seven Billionth Person will be born by the end of this month.

What the world needs now is about six and a half billion deaths. I'll do my part, but I don't know if it will be in time.

But then...what happens if The Earth can accommodate everyone?
Let's say, The Earth expands in size under the shitload of methane gas deposited under The Earth's crust from the sewage produced by The Seven Billion People.

Then you would be mistaken.

The earth CAN accommodate the number of people, just not the selection of people.

About the selection, I ignore them when I can.
It's like the candidates, but they want what we got.

This was discussed today on the Early Show. They argued that we
are all better off because of our internet conection world wide. We
can ask a Question and get a good response almost every time.:)

They just might be right. :)

or a good world war to thin out the populace a bit
we have beaten most of the killer diseases
and are making people live longer too, for what?
With social security on the firing line what do we have to look forward to in our advanced age,
oh yeah, overpopulation, higher crime rate, lack of private health care,
and political unrest (Oakland and Wall Street) yeah...that makes sense

The Black Plague is one of those beaten diseases. A rehashing of that would just kill a few.
World War would be fair, if the whole world was involved, but then the world would probably be a couple billion women, and a few million men.

Oh yeah, world war financed by those with the power and the weapons,
but what chance do They have to survive?

and the problem with a world war is where will it take place?
here? or overseas again, and with everyone locked into the web and on their
computers 24/7 no one would show up! A world war would just probably end with the earths destruction anyhow
since we (the USA) don't know when to stop

I hope if anything, it is a gamma-ray burst, and it hits the side of the earth I am on.

Or we could just put a bounty on bad people.

Seriously though, the only hope for the earth is the extinction of humans. But that's assuming the earth is more important than humans, and only a human could think it's not. The Earth will eventually parish after humans are gone, but the time that would happen is less predictable.

A world war should end in the world's destruction. At this point what else would be the point of having one. It would be a shame to have a winner.

We've already done as much to the earth as many of the previous extinction events, even if we did our worst and set off every atomic bomb it would still be less of a disaster for the earth than the Chicxulub impact 65 million years ago.

So the Earth will be fine, things will be back to normal within a million years after we go extinct.

Many studies are showing a slowdown in growth due to more women becoming educated and going to work, so there's a slight hope population might not be the thing that dooms us.

I hope you're right, Jocelyn... I just wonder what number "many" will actually be... we seem to be doing our best to run Spaceship Earth onto the rocks.
