entering initials in Simpsons Pinball Party

Hey everyone,

I got 41 million points in Simpsons pinball party. When it came time to enter my initials, I didn't know how to do it. I pressed the flipper buttons but didn't see anything happening on screen. I then hit the start button and it entered a 'k'... I ended up entering 'kkn', which are not my initials. I think I was using Visual Pinball 8 (not sure. it was the one that came in the install pack from VP forums, and it's not version 9.02). What am I doing wrong? Why couldn't I see the alphabets scrolling/changing before I accidentally picked 'k'? Am I supposed to just use the flipper buttons to scroll through the alphabets?

That's right. If you get a high score then in the DMD (Dot Matrix Display) the flipper buttons will scroll the letters left and right and the start button button will enter the selected letter.

I think it's a ROM fault. I had this happen to me both on-site (read: in real life) and in VP. So there's no workaround if this is true.

Maybe I'm lucky. When I checked this in my Simpsons Pinball Party it worked fine. I could clearly see the letters for choosing high score initials scrolling in the DMD.

Was there a ROM version update to fix this?

If, and that's a big if since I'm not sure, it's a ROM fault, then there never was an update that fixed it.
