Williams Firepower (Williams, 1980) problem

Hello all. I seem to be having trouble with a couple of my 1-6 targets in the middle not scoring when they are hit. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Dirty switches ? Probably not. Since more than one but not all switches are not working look for a broken green/orange wire or solder joint, under playfield, between those switches. View switch matrix @ http://mirror2.ipdb.org/files/856/W...cs_paginated_from_manual_dated_March_1980.pdf

targets 1-6 all use column 3 green/orange wire in the switch matrix. since only a couple of switches are not working that should rule out the driver board and the green/orange wire going to the first target switch. chances are that the green/orange wire does not go to all 6 target switches. the same low quality wire used for EOS switches is prob. used to connect to the other 5 switches. this same type of wire is also used by williams on their drop target board jumpers. i agree with coil smoke that it could be a wire off or bad solder connection on these switches. also check the diodes on these switches for burned off wires or bad connections. if you decide to clean the target switch contacts, use a folded business card or dollar bill. never use a file or abrasive because it will remove the gold plating on the contacts.
