Friends, If You Are Wondering Why You Are Not Allowed Multiple Radio Contest Winnings

And here is a flashback from Aug. 7, 1965; the KRLA Beat. This was a free Top 40 newspaper from Eubank's station. It mentions (somewhere) "Scuzzy Ice Cream".

Scroll through and enjoy the pics, but for a real good time, scroll to the bottom to read the Top 40 list of hits for Aug. 7, 1965 and tell me how the Hell you can beat that list?
I probably once owned a copy of this very same issue, reading it and thumbing it religiously in the back seat of the family car after picking it up at the supermarket distro point. And Please Remember to ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM.

That was one amazing trip back in time, Arne! Christ on a cracker, what group didn't they include in that issue? I guess the most noticeable absence would be the Beach Boys. Ah, but they managed to crawl into the top 40 with "California Girls". That song won't go anywhere. And look at that lineup of Brylcreamed white guys on the air! When Casey Kasem is your only choice for "token minority" it's time to start thinking outside the box. What's really strange is how this has become a Thread of Infants. Steve posted that Dylan song that aired when he was three months old. This issue came out on my two-month celebration.
For more countdown hijinx, Radio Rick at TopShelf Oldies does a Hometown Countdown show every Wednesday afternoon from 2 to 5PM, utilizing a 50s/60s list from a different station each week. It's pretty fun to listen to. I mean, when's the last time you heard the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in a radio countdown show?

politics happens in the animal world as well, so i imagine it's been with us since the beginning. the beginning of modern humans, first hominids, first apes... maybe first primates, maybe first mammals...... arguably even much further back.

You bet it has! You know that one ape who clubs the other one to death at the beginning of 2001? He probably did it after his brother told him there'd be a sweet spot on the nit-picking circle waiting for him if he just got his hands a little dirty first. That's right... that bone-wielding ape-clubber was the first campaign manager!

No, I think that ape was the world's first Queen. I am convinced that the family of humans once had a global village. We are familial by nature. But the inherent psychos in the house could not be dealt with. The familial were not killers, so they instead banished the psychos to the outlands.

The psychos didn't like that one bit, but they survived to return, kill their Fathers and Brothers, indoctrinate their Mothers and Sisters, and then declared themselves Queen. Given that King James and his scribes did a bit of translation, I believe The Bible refers to The Royals as the conflict of Eve and Cain vs. Adam and Able. Eve and Cain = Never satisfied. And "Cain" may have been female. He certainly displays the dissatisfaction of the spurned maternal. And so does the t.v. Hannibal with his "hypnosis"---indoctrination by deceit and fear due to delusional issues. And Jim Morrison took it to the bank.

But I did want to say that politics exist only to attack somebody else. In a land of Liberty, the parties act like it's a contest.

Or how the brains of Thomas Beckett were smeared on the cobblestones from the swords of the nuns. Or so said the artful nun, what's her name(?), on that long-forgotten PBS documentary.

I found it. The name of the artful nun is Sister Wendy Beckett.

never forget that she could fly.

that was sort of key to the whole understanding-business.

No, no, no, Nic... Arne said "the Artful nun", you're talking about "the Flying Nun"... two completely different orders. Probably only funny if you're Catlick. The order that attempted to teach me in elementary school had a real crazy name... the Adorers of the Blood of Christ or something. All I know is that the name always sounded to me like they just finished chewing all the good meat off of Jesus' thigh bone.

Yep... that's what they're called... really. http://www.adorers.org/Home.aspx Looking at the schedule, I'm gonna be missing quite the shindig in Wichitucky. The Hidden Treasures Art Exhibit is gonna feature two nuns on pianos and one on the recorder. They are gonna fucking kill on their version of "Iron Man"!

Yeah...my Mom keeps getting donation appeals from the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, The Marist Brothers, something for the retired priests, and others want to bring Catholicism to the native tribes of Africa. She is 88 years old. She sends them money. They got her address from an unrelated mailing list.

I don't know about any atonements. We were raised by my Mom to be Protestants.

EDIT: And I still don't know for the life of me why I was circumcised...

hahaha.... that comment wins the post of the day award.

heh, these threads are like logbook exhibitions on why we're all so nuts. too bad they probably won't be preserved a few million years in to the future when a race of intelligent birds is digging up our remains.

Not that it matters, but I've just realized the significance of the Slavic population of my home town, Ford City, Pa, about 30 miles southeast of New Castle, Pa which was the site of The Cascade Theater. This was the first theater owned by The Warner Bros., also of Slavic descent. Like the Armenians, the people tend to settle around any significant businesses owned by their own.

The Warners also started the first commercial radio station in Los Angeles, KFWB AM in 1925. The call letters are obvious.
KFWB was popular music, and was Top 40 through the sixties until 1967 when it became, I think, the first all news station.

In your mind what does the 'F' in KFWB stand for ?

I can now tell you. The "F" stands for their insurance scam screwing me out of my car.
I think. And this is being leveraged against my health issues based on 'their excellent financial retainers'. Something that they have Never paid in all the years that they've locked me down. Their idea of a retainer was to lock me down and force me to work for them, else sit and Rot. Like the kids working no pay for Mom and Pop. OLet's put it this way. When I was working temp, I would get called to Warners. If I turned down that call, I was instead sent to unload a dump truck full of tons of mangled angle iron on a 100 degree day.

They've been hooting from across the plaza today about the insurance hike that they stuck me with. They can't pay a retainer, but they swear that the hike is O.K.
It's a one way street with richie Warners. Like Bimbos. EDIT: Like...Time Warner Cable fees!

Btw. Is there a connection between Armenian and Slavic cultures? EDIT: It doesn't matter. The Warners would sell their Mother's soul to the devil to avoid liability issues, but they are more likely to do it for sport. And their sense of sport is the usual cause of their liability issues to begin with.
