Gottlieb Genesis (Gottlieb, 1986) Display Issue

I have a Gottleib Genesis but one space on the display is brighter than all the rest and appears to constantly display several characters at the same time. Does anyone know a fix for this? It is the 4th from the bottom left. Thanks

SYSTEM 80B

gottlieb system 1 used 60 and 42v for their displays and had a had a adj. pot on its power supply , system 80b looks like it doesnt have a adj. it looks like a portion of the display is bad and the display glass can be changed with a lot of soldering. if the bottom disply just went bad how much life does the top display have left. i guess about $80 for each display glass if they are availible compared to getting a complete display nos board for about $154. its possible some of the other parts on the display board might be the problem, so getting the complete display board might be the way to go and sell the old display board as used.

Actually looks like a display driver IC has gone bad to me since one is locked on. I need to check my books and see which one it would be.

I think I'll try the IC replacement before shelling out for a new display right away. Looking forward to hearing which IC to check. Thanks!
