Awww, thanks, Sleepy! I was out of the path of Sandy, but that doesn't mean I haven't seen my first snowfall! I've been moving into my new digs in Madison freaking Wisconsin! Jesus, but I hate the cold. I'm sure you feel my pain out there in LA where you'll have a high temp of... let's check Accuweather... 72 DEGREES?!? I hate you. :)

Actually it's been closer to 90 degrees out here, but the last couple of days have been overcast with a chance of rain which puts a damper on my mining prospects...

Hey, I just remembered. I had a stopover in Wisconsin back in '97 and Wisconsin makes The Best Sweet Dairy Butter, bar none.

If I could buy that butter fresh in Cali, man! Out here they only sell sandlot butter. Has none of the deep sweet flavor.
Doesn't come from Happy Cows.

I must admit, it's a bit of a culture shock to go to the store and be able to buy cheese, butter, milk and beer that was all made within a hundred-mile radius of where you're shopping (then you can go home and combine the ingredients for a massive heart attack). And the cheese section is twice as big as anywhere I've ever seen. Still isn't a fair trade for the horrible winter weather. Okay... the Spotted Cow beer almost makes it worthwhile, but not quite!

here in Pa the Amish foods are excellent!
Fresh and wholesome (no artificial anything!)
cheap too but the best butter I ever had is English Butter
which tends to be sweeter than most of ours

Not much... you? Sorry, it was automatic :) In the late '90s, I was giving a friend a ride to pick his car up one Saturday morning and we were listening to a live performance of Whadaya Know being broadcast in Wichita from about 10 miles from where we were... and Feldman was interviewing someone we knew. It was a surreal experience!
