Frankly I'd rather not have to dodge the bullet or fire it in the first instance, sure that's not an option, still I'd like those options limited.

As for any news, well golf seasons almost over, 2 weeks to go, the school leaves will be invading our town in the next couple of weeks and I'll be getting 3 months holidays.

Hoping to buy one of them 2013 nexus 7 tablets with my leave loading. They seem to be a nice bit of kit and my old 10 inch tablet is playing up of late, charging issues.

Aside from that, same, same..down the local after work most days for a beer and a bet or three, sometimes more with a win, mind you that has not panned out to well of late, stupid dogs I swear if I ever see one wearing glasses I'm going to back it because I'm sure they don't read the form guide.

Oh and frankly I blame that 7-eleven for the Sleepy one missing in action.

Most of the good stuff. You know; Lorena Bobbitt's scissor demo, renegade ex-cop gets even (and then dead) with the Force, Heismann Trophy winner acquitted of killing wife, Miley Cyrus exposes stuff, James Spader plays arch-criminal with a hall pass in NBC-TV's 'The Blacklist', CBS's 'Person Of Interest' still the best show on USA tv, new movie 'The Hobbit' makes the trilogy into a quadrilogy, American Congress threatens to outlaw Pinball if they aren't left alone.....oh, yeah---Cracker kills pothead; truth pending.

Trouble is, it all sounds the same after awhile, and Martian timeshares are too goddamned expensive.

so is that your aussiepad, losing its charge? i've been running my asus under a heavy load, daily for a year, and i must say it has held up well. no idea how long these batteries are supposed to last, though, nor if its possible to replace them like i can with my phone or DSXL.

i should really get in to some type of betting or investment for entertainment / learning, but i'm not sure what. this govt has made it too dodgy to play texas holdem online, and the stock market kind of rubs me the wrong way. hmm...

if i was more mobile and healthy, doing the "storage wars" thing would probably be a blast and a half.

hah, yes... i get that about the news. but i like that android app "google currents." i can customise a list of magazines to follow, then it lets me whisk through their online versions in a low-key no-nonsense format. way more pleasant way to get thoughtful news content.

but that one case had a lot of social and national significance. not only did it have the challenge of a puzzle to unravel, but it kept me in touch with how different groups of people are thinking and feeling about hot issues.

i guess, given that the news is commonly more about peoples reactions to it than the event itself, if you feel you have people groked pretty well then i guess that would be less impetus to read the shitty news of the shitty day. :)

Wow, I love the international flavor in this place. Not to mention the brotherly love. Glad I don't have the gambling bug. I also lost my taste for the news. Ask your self if the news has ever done you any real good. Maybe the traffic and weather helps but do we need to know all this other crap? I wish I could cleanse my head of all the bullshit and jaded opinions foisted on me by a fascination with the news early in life. I hear that some South American vine concoction(Ayahuasca?) can actually do this. I broke myself from the addiction to news about 15 years ago. I still inflict myself by watching some C-SPAN. It's like a guy with a sore tooth, I have to keep touching it. Funny how the news keeps getting through. The above mention of "Storage Wars" brought to mind news that there was some fraud involved. Two of the shows' characters where accused of planting high value goods in the lockers they were bidding on... Hungh ? Maybe the news can help you after all !?! .......C_S

Been eating plenty of fruit since my health issues in April; since surgery, hardly anything.

My asshole needs nothing extra, it's doing okay on it's own but I do wish my taste for beer returned

Well add me to the list of people who don't care for the news, it was actually 3 days later that I learned of the government shut down. No I'm not a hermit, I have just been so busy at work that I've hardly watched any TV and the time I did get in was spent watching anything but the news. I sometimes catch a little news on my lunch break but only because that's what my coworkers are watching at that time but when I'm on my time I just don't watch it very often.niper:

I am also on an involuntary weight loss plan due to kidney stones
I have lost about 14 lbs in the last two months
also had two pleasant (albeit expensive) ambulance rides in the past three weeks
was in hospital five times now in two months
have an appt on Monday with a Urologist
anyways the only news I watch is the Good Day at 7,8 and 9am
they are my fave soap opera news team!
other than that I go onto Yahoo news daily
to check out the odd stories they usually have there
so I have no inkling of day to day local stuff but I do know about the strange happenings worldwide
