Gottlieb Hot Shot (Gottlieb, 1973) "Specials Not Working"

I am very close to having this game fully functioning! :D The only thing not working is the Specials. They light up when all the targets are hit and rotate but does not award a game when the target is hit. The target does score points when not lit. Can someone tell me where to look for this problem?

the first thing to check is the replay unit max replay switch. next i remember a relay in the head called special relay, or something like it. this relay works with the special when lit targets. lightly file and adjust relay switches and replay unit switch if needed.

Specials Not Working

Thank you pinballdaveh,
I have gone through the max. credit switch and have that working smoothly. It is set at 15 and the switch opens when it gets there.
The schematics says the special relay switch is the 'AX" relay which I have cleaned and adjusted.
Could this problem be in the 'EX' switch which is the add replay relay even though it adds games for score and match?:idea:

1973 Gottlieb Hot Shot Schematics

Specials targets light but do not award credit when target is hit. Targets do award points when not lit. EX relay awards credit when manually activated.

thank you for posting the schematic. the part with the relay and coil legend would have been helpfull. anyway check the normally open switch on the AX relay. it has yel-red and yel wires going to it. it looks like thats where you are loosing your circuit path. lightly file and adjust if needed
