How's the weather in your neck-o-the woods. We had a hot time of it in mid July. Now I can't remember ever having such nice temperatures in the middle of summer. This trend is predicted to continue. Now I know a 4 week forecast is almost ludicrous. But look at the graph near the bottom of the page. It shows just how far below normal(pale yellow,pale blue lines) the daily temps are supposed to be. Accuweather did forecast this cooling trend a few weeks back. Let me know how this turns out in your part of the world. And for those of you south of the equator is it really winter? and is there anything worth mentioning about your climate these days?...C_S

weather so nice in northern ohio i just have to...

feels like springtime last couple weeks, even like fall on some days. last year same time it was broiling and there wasn't enough mesquite steak sauce around to splash myself with.

anyway, IIRC this latest thing was caused by a big cold front that hit this region and spread east to your area. a cold front caused by pressure diffentials that greatly impacted the jet stream for a while. not sure if el nino-related or not...?

so far haven't had to run the air conditioner once this season. :)

well Philly (Philadelphia) had a ton of rain two days ago...8 inches overnight!
but near me it's the usual hot and muggy summer weather!
nothing too weird...

It is weird that Philly(Makes Me Want A Bagel and Some Cream Cheese)is not enjoying the same fine weather here in Baltimore 90 miles away.(Or Maybe A Cheese Steak Sub) That is a phenomenal amount of rain to deal with. That night we had about 10 drops of rain. We were swimming around midnight and saw plenty lightning flashes from up your way.

I am not a big fan of the global warming thing. But this mornings Astro Pic O The Day has an animation showing 130 years of earth's temperature fluctuations. Click this link...C_S

All that rain was in a narrow line between Wilmington and Trenton, over the Delaware river and a few miles east into NJ. A few miles west of the river we only got half and inch. Even a few miles west of the airport where they recorded 7 inches in a few hours there was hardly any.

I drove over to NJ about 2pm, started back home around 5:30 and didn't get home until 8:30. Every road just east of the river was flooded. The roads near the Walt Whitman bridge were the worst, I bailed on those and headed down to try and cross the Commodore Barry bridge but everyone else had the same idea, took 2 hours to move 11 miles on route 322.
