Bally Judge Dredd (Bally, 1993) flipper gets weak after 15 minutes of play

My machine plays nice and strong when it's first started up. After about 10 or 15 minutes the left side flippers lose strength and become almost limp but still work. At the same time when this starts happening, whenever I shoot the top rounding skill shot loop, my machine cries out the most horrible garbled ear shattering electronic malfunctioning sound worse than chalk board scratching. I disconnected the sound board just so I could play in peace and noticed that without the board connected, the flippers are staying strong. Any suggestions? Are these problems related or just coincidence?

What a horrible "Sounding" problem. The IPDB manual>http://mirror2.ipdb.org/files/1322/Bally_1993_Judge_Dredd_Manual.pdf
doesn't show much about the audio board's connections. The fliptronic board shares the 5v,12v,& the 50v supplies may power the audio amp's output section. I think component chiller spray might help track down the board causing the problem. It is odd that only left flippers seem involved if the issue is in the audio board. I wonder if DC blocking capacitors somewhere might be supposed to block flipper action from contaminating audio circuits and developed thermal internal shorts ?

Thanks for the reply. First off, I need to let you know that I am real green at this repair stuff and I need some clarity on some things. Fliptronic is the name of the board used to control flippers? What is chiller spray? Do I need a slap for not knowing this? Lol

That chill spray is real old school trouble shooting. Ya don't much hear about the stuff but it's still around.

This stuff helps track down faulty electronic parts that act up when the circuit warms up. You would spray likley parts when your problem sounds off. Maybe chilling one down would fix the problem temporarily.

Thanks, I'll try starting with that and see if I can isolate the problem. I'll post my findings so check in on me once in awhile. Thanks again!
