Gottlieb Jungle Princess (Gottlieb, 1977) starts on player 1 ball 2

does not show player 2 ball light like it should

went thru each player unit stack ... made certain they were clean and set up correctly
there are 10 player rivets p1 ball1 p2 ball 1 p1 ball 2 etc etc
it cycling over to player 1 ball 2 no ball count light
went through CX and P
Machine consistently starts now on player 1 ball player 2 with no ball 2 light showing still
shoot that ball and it goes to player 1 ball 3 with the 3rd ball light showing
then goes to game over
rivets are all bright shiney brass as is the riding finger--- 400 grit wet dry then a bit of dielectric grease to smooth over the rivets
anymore suggestions please?

Haven't messed with the cam OR the bakelite at all... except to clean it and I cleaned it in place

I Don't know how to read the schematic so I am going off common sense and also use of the schematics when I set the stacks

For instance

I know p3 p4 and p5 They are working perfect

P3 p4 resets the score reels and once they are reset then p5b closes

but I have no idea what P1 and P2 does nor do I know what direction they are

suppose to be set to... I am setting using common sense as to the way the

stack rotates.

I start the machine and everything resets and it goes to P1 Ball 2

so I went to the back of the machine and manually clicked the bakelite

over to player 1 ball 1. from there I would look at the cam position and

used common sense to set the directions of the switches... I don't know if

I'm correct or not.

Thanks for posting the schematlc, but it's not legible on my phone. Some things to check are the ball count / player up unit. Check its mechanical operation when coil pulls in, does the unit stick or have sluggish operation? Was the coil sleeve and plunger cleaned? Does its ratchet operation work correctly and advance 1 step per coil pulse? Check the 1st ball relay, 2nd player relay, ball return relays and their switches for proper operation. The player up unit is pulsed by the score motor. Find and check the switches involved with the coil pulsing and clean and adjust them. There might be a card on the side of the cabinet describing them. A switch too close or pitted contacts might give multiple pulses to the player up unit.
