Williams SS Laser Cue (Williams, 1984) Everything with a solenoid does not work

I've recently come in to possession of an old williams laser cue.
Everything is working except for things that have solenoids. This means all four flippers, all the drop targets, some of the bumpers, the chime and the ball return.

I'm fairly new at pinball repair and just wanted to know if anyone else has ever encountered this problem, or has a solution.

Check the fuses on the power supply board in the backbox. (lower right hand board). Fuse F2 controls the solonoids. F4 is for the flippers. If that is not the issue, then the bridge rectifier that feeds these could be bad. Check the fuses first and post your results. If it goes any further I can help you troubleshoot further.

Hey, so i checked the fuses. The solenoid fuse blows if i turn the machine on.
flipper fuse appears to be fine.

When you turn on the machine before the fuse blows, does one or more of the solonoid trigger?

Yep. Not too visibly but there is a large clunking sound and then the fuse blows.

Looks like you have a little problem but nothing that I think can not be fixed. Check your PM.

Hey, I just purchased a 1979 Williams LazerBall machine and I'm having similar symptoms. My ball return and all bumpers are not working when the ball comes in contact with them. I'm not sure which version I have, but it only has one ball. I haven't check the backbox for wasted fuses yet, so I'm going the follow the advice below and check the fuses assigned to the solonoids and such. Thanks for your post
