Looking to buy - want some suggestions

After playing a few games of Monopoly and LOTR, I've decided I'd like a pinball machine (for me) in the basement. Kids are 5 and 7, so the game can't be R rated in graphics, but I'm unconcerned whether they can play it now.

Monopoly was fun, but I keep reading about it being either too easy or people quickly getting bored. LOTR seemed to too busy - fun, but too busy. LOTR also seemed like a repair nightmare since 2 of the 4 machines I saw had major problems.

Can someone make a few suggestions, based on what's available in the resale market, as to games I might enjoy? I'm the kind of guy who is going to buy one and have it in his home forever, so a 'this is a good game for a year or so' isn't a good plan.

I like Theatre of Magic. There is enough of a challenge to the various mini-games that it takes awhile for it to get old.

Other games I'd like to own are Attack From Mars, The Machine: Bride of Pinbot, Judge Dredd, Addams Family, Creature From the Black Lagoon, World Cup '94, Jokerz!, Eight Ball Deluxe, The Getaway: High Speed 2, Blackout, Black Knight, Flash Gordon, Earthshaker, Paragon, Space Invaders, Harlem Globetrotters on Tour, though others will have their favorites too.
Always try the machine first to make sure you can live with it.

fish tales is fun and good for kid + there is a fish on top that flaps and makes lots of noise

Fish Tales is a great game and I forgot to include it,
but I would definitely buy it.

There is probably no slipperier slope than choosing something like this for someone else. Any one machine will surly get boring at some point. The object is to get one the won't until you master it.

My only suggestion is to go as out as you can afford and get the one you choose in the best shape you can find, for trading purposes.

Part of my problem is the availability of machines locally to see/play. We don't have a distributor/arcade locally.

If I get some agreement that "these 3 games are worth a look" I can make a concerted effort to see those 3 machines and decide.

I'm not trying to make a sight-unseen decision, just trying to get a reasonable list of machines to seek out.
