Nice work guys. One minor thing I notice is I think on the real one's I've played the lights near the flippers were elf = blue, dwarf = yellow...when the elf lights were on and dwarf were off you would see part of the blue come over thru some of the dwarf lights (the lower couple/few) even though they were off. At least from what i remember...haven't seen one in the area for a long time.

Thank you! I love this! But I also love JP_1.02. :-)

Hi Jamin, what's about all your tables?

Can you provide an actual link to dl all of your tables? Are you ok with to upload all of your tables at PN and/or to VPForums.org?

Please let us know.

Thank you for all of your efforts and tables anyway!

Wow, I'd love to know what types of video cards you guys have in your "meager" PCs that don't stutter on this table. My onboard nVidia 6150LE *hates* it. It's much happier with fading lights deactivated, but it still grumbles a little in multiball when all of the lights are flashing.

I've got - integrated Intel GMA 900 Graphics, 128 MB dynamic video memory.

It's a mystery to me why LOTR should run so smoothly on my PC when, by way of comparison, JP's Star Wars can show signs of struggle when the table lights up with just a single ball in play. When I say LOTR runs smoothly for me I mean a long 4 ball multi with numerous consecutive jackpots had no discernible effect on framerate.

I'm gonna go play some more to make sure I wasn't hallucinating. :trippy:

... and I noticed no issues with Star Wars, go figure. <shrug>

I'm at a loss to offer an explanation as to how we can end up with opposite problems on the same two tables, m4paws. I've only been playing VP for 3 or 4 weeks though. There must be someone vastly more qualified than me who can shed some light on this. At the time of my last posts I was running both of them with identical launch options.

I was able to tame Star Wars a bit today by turning off ball shadows, decals, anti-aliasing and knocking the resolution down from 32 bit to 16 bit while still keeping fading lights. I''ll give disable fading lights a try later and see how she runs.

Unlike Dutchy I still benefit from having DDraw disabled in LOTR. I tried it with DDraw on and saw problems almost immediately.

Ps. Can you tell me if checking "check blit status" and "cache rendered table" helps or hinders ball stuttering? They're off by default so I've always left them that way.

Leave them off,it will not help.

I have an old ATI 200x 128 MB card on XP home with a 2 gig AMD 64 and I use 1280x1024x16 settings with DD disabled and it helps me out quite a bit...The only table I have problems with is Kurt's CV...just don't have enough CPU power for all the effects and the ROM emulation...but it still runs OK and lowering the resolution doesn't help there...and usually on Scap's tables I have to leave DD on so I don't get any visual errors....I always have ball decals on and shadows, but turn off ball anti-aliasing...and I have VPM set to 22050 khz sound wise and 50 on the AA...don't use blit or cache rendered stuff, though...Also on Gottlieb System 3 tables they take up more power and sometimes manually turning off Yieldtime in the script helps. Hope this information can help someone! :)

Interesting... I'd really forgotten about trying that, since I haven't needed it for most tables since upgrading my PC a few years ago. I'm going to have to give it another go, that could indeed be the difference.

Good call, that was it! I don't need to do that for most tables, but it seems that for some of the more intensive ones I still do.

Thanks for the reminder!

:doh1

OMG .... I helped you!?!? I guess I owed you one for all the times you've helped me m4paws. :joy:

Thank you SO much for another breathtaking table!!!

Whenever I can't manage to spare 11 hours to watch LOTR Special Extended DVD Edition, I just play a few quick games of JPGPins LOTR. :dwarf:

"I will take the ring to Mordor...though...I do not know the way."

Thanks JP and Groni, It is a fantastic table. Did you guys put off TOM for awhile?, I remember you saying around the release of TOTAN that it would be next!

I am looking forward to another excellent version of TZ

Is this working correct in VP9? Got it to load with no left flipper, then ball freezes on sword ramp.

Nope, this is a VP8 table. The ball freezes on the sword ramp because the ball is larger in VP9, so some ramps don't work correctly.

The McD

I just downloaded version 2.1 of this table and it looks amazing and plays beautifully.

An extremely impressive achievement; a benchmark - thanks to everyone involved! :appl:
