Gottlieb Mayfair (Gottlieb, 1966) power issues

I'm working on a '66 Gottlieb Mayfair and I'm having some random initial power up problems.

I've checked all of the bulkheads and made certain that they are routed correctly, but I get nothing when I plug the machine in.

I've replaced the power cord to the 7 1/2 amp fuse bus and transformer. I'm getting 115 voltage across the lines to the fuse and transformer, so I know that the power going to the transformer is clean.

When I trip the reset relay manually with my finger, the score reset motor comes on, the character/ art lights in the backbox come on and nothing else works. I'm not getting any lights on the playfield or to the score illumination on the back box.

I'm under the assumption because of this, the back box is not getting full power and in turn, it's not resetting the score wheels and shutting the reset motor off.

I have a schematic for the machine. All of the fuses are good. Are there any relays or devices that could cause a short to half of the components in the back box and in turn, take the rest of the playfield illumination and devices out?

After taking a peek at the schematic, I'm seeing that this game has some circuitry within the game, before the main power transformer directly from the plug wires.

Do early Gottlieb games have A/C score reel reset motors? I'm beginning to wonder if I have a bad transformer.

This game does not have a toggle switch for power and doesn't show one on the schematic. it has a kickoff switch and all kinds of other goodies to shut it off, but nothing to turn it on (that I know of) other than simply plugging the machine in.

So, if this thing is plugged in, should I see D/C @ 6v and 25v, respectively on the slugs at the transformer?

I think I have this traced to a couple of culprite hold relay switch stacks having filthy contacts.

I didn't quite realize just how fouled the contacts were in this game until I manually checked them with my multimeter set to continuity check and got nothing on most of them. I started by trying to use the start button and got nothing on my meter at the wire solders when I pressed the button, until after I cleaned the contacts.

I'm about 2/3 finished with cleaning and then checking every contact in the game. I have a row of relays on the playfield and whatever I need to do in the back box.

After I tap the coin wire guide switch, the lights for the character and title illuminate and the game motor starts spinning, but will not stop spinning, so something isn't allowing any of the playfield, score reels or anything else to illuminate on 6v and most of the components, including the flippers.

I'm willing to bet that once I get all of the contact switches cleaned and I can get the game to illuminate without triggering the switch stacks on the relays manually, I will have a working game.
