Those are for changing the camera view. Can be for multiball, a preset, an event, etc. I use them alot on all my releases, mainly for MB and preset Static Camera views.
I've always had to use both xBAM.Camera.DesktopSet and xBAM.Camera.DesktopSetLookAt (both using the same settings) if I want the camera view to actually change.
If you look at MOTU CE under my:

...section you can see how I use all of these together to offer static views, or the use the FP Fxx keys camera, for mb, etc. I always disabled the prompt for camera control, as I offer the option to toggle it on / off during attract mode or permanently in script.
