in about 1-2 weeks it should be good to go! I am scripting the events now, thanks to all the help from Wizards hat! It is NOT an exact copy for I don't know how the real machine plays. the table layout is a copy (as best as I can make it) but all the events and sounds are custom. I got a bunch of voice samples and effects off the web and threw them in, and am just now tying in the lights with the targets and such. So in about 2 weeks it should be ready for play!
On an aside, since the (4) zizzle tables all share the same physical layout, the others should be easy to redo. just different sounds and events but the skeleton table is made already! the next one will be the Marvel heroes one since I have that table graphic already. As for the other two, I need the table pics of them (I don't even know their themes)
Again the Pirates of the Carribean is NOT an exact redo, but rather a custom build (and my first table!) I just thought the layout looked cool (and it plays decent too). Here is the pic of the table so far!...

devospeed, how close r you to starting one? do you have any ideas yet? a table layout is a good start just go from there! I have two others I put on hold to get the zizzle copies out first. if you have any ideas get a table skeleton out first, then a storyboard then a flowchart forthe actual table-building. I forgot a flowchart (this being my first at 99% done) and got really confused trying to recall what goes with what!
and you say someday! I've been here (well I started on VPF but that's gone now) only about 3 weeks and knew NOTHING of coding when I first started (as the poor people who I've been constantly bugging with coding questions can attest to!) but I wanted to build my own so I am! the people on here (and me too) will help you with anything you can dream up! trust me if they can put up with me they'll take you on no problem!
 
here's a few ideas; Nascar with voice and car noise samples, Hunting (why not? as a spoof), Dinosaurs, Guitar hero or rock band, Labyrinth (based on the movie), The Matrix (been thinking of that one a lot), Captain Nemo, Blood and Guts(horror movie-based) etc... or for puzzle freaks (different events) The Goonies(also based on the movie)and the list goes on...
 
It's looking very good faralos, can't wait to play the game when it's done. Also how do you like Groni and JP's site i like it, it's not bad for a first forum. It also seems cool what noah and val are doing making another vpforum. Dave P.
 
It will be awhile till I can actually start on anything. One idea that I've had for awhile is doing an Animal House themed table. Being a big fan of pinball artwork I would want to give it a traditional look of the early and late 70's artwork. I've also got to learn program!

Honestly I am just starting to learn also. I've been on VPF for about 3-4 weeks only, and before that I never even saw a bit of code! I 'learned' by looking at demo tables, and tearing into them to see if i could make sense of what did what and where. A few (dozen) tables later I kind of got the gist of it, and with a few dedicated people there (who are now here) I am learning to code. It isn't as hard as I first thought it was, ok, it was a little at first, my brain couldn't wrap itself around the why's of coding, but with my first table soon to come out, well, I am finally 'getting' coding. Start by looking at the table scripts, start with the 'new' table in VP and cut and paste easy things like spinners, (very easy coding) stationary targets and such. their code is short and easy to pick up. It'll come to ya after a while, you really have to want to learn to do this, though. Although it may seem daunting at first go with a basic table.
Mine doesn't have Bonus scoring (the score adds up on the fly there is no scoring at the balls end; when it drains, that is still beyond me) that is the easiest way I know to start. trust me there are MANY people here who will be more than happy with their help, we WANT to see more people get involved not just with the playing part but also with building their own or recreations of commercial tables. let's keep pinball alive!!
Well having said that, when my zizzle semi-copies come out, take a look at the coding, it s pretty simple for a table, I kept it at a minimum, so I didn't confuse myself with all the bells and whistles of the more complicated pins out there! No there is no fadinglights (don't really understand that term yet or what it does in a pin) but other things are easily understood (if a=this, and b=that, then c happens) that's really all there is to it! I thought it was complicated at first but then I broke it all down and got that basic formula. It makes more sense to me, now that I look at it that way.
But take your time go at your own pace and most of all just have fun!

ok devospeed the actual table is finished the only thing missing is high scores equals free game. i don't know how to even begin that coding and haven't gotten a reply yet to my post on here about it, but if ya' want i can send it to you so you can better understand the coding in it. it plays fine (actually you could be my playtester; check to see if you can get the ball stuck anywhere that sort of thing). In a few minutes I'll throw it up onto savefile with a link forit. Like i said you can't get a free game with a high score and there is no 'tilt' built into it. but everything else is done on it. I'm talking of my Zizzle Pirates of the Carribean semi-copy! all you can do right now is just play 3 balls that's it. My helper (Mentor/tutor, Dojo)(wizards hat) is busy hosting a pinball tourney this week at his home so he's unavailable to help me with the coding for the high scoring Actually I guess since I'll have the link here anyone can get it to playtest it so ok guys/gals? anyone want to playtest it for me?

to devospeed!! just click on the previous post with that blue link, scroll halfway down that savefile page to the orange download bar d/load it and play the living heck out of it! also, if you happen to have any way of uploading the voice samples from the Marvel Zizzle, I'd appreciate it! also what do the 3 upper green lights connect with? on the potc table I just lumped them together, not knowing what they should be connected with! there are so many lights and not enuf stuff for them all!
How does it actually play? I've been hearing conflicting reports on their reliability (esp. the flipper solenoids)
Oh and Flying Dutchman, Thanks for the support! (and anyone else who has posted with compliment/help/tips, etc.) it's almost fun again, now that I'm beginning to understand coding (while building the physical layout is a blast, some of the coding still comes as a struggle, but I'm getting there! another decade or two (heehee)and I'll be right up there with the REAL artists here who can do a commercial pin like it was nothing!
 
I now have three different table pics for the marvel zizzle

which one is the production one? here are the 3 I now have. before i spend hours on pasting the little faces onto the blue light circles in the table pic, do I really need to? one of the pics just shows the blue lights. one has the pics and one has the pics plus the villians names under them!

Both the Pirates table and the Marvel table had two different versions - an original release and a 2nd edition which had some upgraded hardware and totally new artwork (but the same layout). I think the picture on the left is the 1st edition, but beyond that, you've got me. Hopefully someone else can paint more of the picture.
 
well its too late for the potc table pic! that table is about 99% finished and I'm not gonna redo the entire table! check for 2 posts hereon PN for that table playtest d/load!
As for the Marvel table forget about sound bytes! I went online and found a boatload of them! one byte for each villian and I found the xmwen movie theme soundtrack for the table background music. But I really need to know which table pic I should use. I'd like it to be relatively similar to the production one and if the faces are indeed on the tablethen I need a good picture, since that one doesn't show whoever is on the right side! Thanks...
 
Your POTC table plays almost exactly as my Marvel does. Great job! I'm getting more inspired to start my own! Here is the Marvel table I have.

ZIZZLE MARVEL SUPERHEROES PICS AND IMPROVEMENTS

There are at least 150 photographs where you can see several arrangements I´ve made to the machine:
- white flippers (they were black, quite invisible in the dark background playfield by default),
- colourful round stickers for the targets, 2 square sticker for IRON MAN spinner (both plain black plastic originally), 2 yelllow triangle stickers in the middle of Mystique ramp.
- 2 added blue hi-light leds for the 3 upper MAGNETO lanes (only 1 in the middle lane from factory),
- a new speaker as a subwoofer in the wood cabinet, wired from the main board.
- 6 white hi-light leds to illuminate the outer decals of the playfield.
- an imitation of a coin entrance made of sticker in the front (taken originally from another TOMY pinball). Fits perfectly as there were many free space in white. (I even designed a custom spanish Gottlieb-Maresa apron finally not used).

Thanks heaps for those night-time shots!

I built the ones here, using the playfield shape and picture from the Zizzle one. I'm currently in a class on another site to learn better and faster coding so hopefully soon I can do a mod on my own machines making them playable in that night version! very nice shots! now go check out my two and let me know how you feel, I didn't have the original on hand and did all custom sounds for it, too, but the basic play is there as is the potc one.
