Thank you for posting this. I downloaded the demo table. I found the flippers are the same ones that Gimli and I developed years ago. I compared the XML that is saved to the demo table script with one from an "ULTIMATE Pro" version which I think is the last version he published. There are some differences in the XML.

I will probably continue using FizX. The main thing I like about FizX is how the center shots hit the targets much better. I would be interested a version that combines Slam's XML with the way FizX hits the center shots if that were possible.

Just my opinion....since when many years ago, I started using the "DF" and for a few years started configuring xml and physics , I have never had problems with the center shots, in fact I would say that the side shots are more complicated for me, precisely because the fins have the problem in in the final part of the flipper, i.e. in the tips as you well know, which fizx has almost solved.

Maybe you won't know it, but slam using his physics in xml (nothing complicated and nothing new) has almost redone all the tables he works on for the physics he uses, so he reworked the entire construction of a table, modifying ramps, measurements and more, for smoother gameplay,in fact he tried many versions of xml for this purpose.

In those days when slam released versions of xml(which now are insert on bam), we knew nothing about xml, so much so that an external file was used, when you and some others took the path of xml.......and if you remember correctly, I was the first to insert the xml directly into the script without using the external file.

Returning you have central shots, if you see my "sturdast" the Bam version, you manage to hit the central kicker, despite having your old DF, it's just a question of configuration, and positioning of the flippers, especially if you change the swing angle
So, answering your question that I quote, yes... for me it is possible....and I do it, but with my xml.

He took the site down. It has been awhile but I seem to remember reading somewhere that he said no one was downloading his tables because they didn't have FizX. My guess is he doesn't like FizX although I have never heard him say anything about it. ...But then why would he post the first video that in this thread if he liked FizX and the demo table he posted doesn't have FizX either.

Regarding the amount of FP tables in existence, the number of tables with FizX is almost none in comparison.
It's like downloading only tables with nfozzy physics in VPX or using the latest blender tricks.
If that is the reason, it's just stupid.
Plus anyone can add FizX to a table if they wish to do so. He doesn't have to.

As far as I know, it all started with that selling tables thing and worsened when someone ported / copied whatever the Halloween table (if my memory serves me well) into VPX.

To this day I maintain my opinion. Why having so much work and keep it to yourself. It'll only be lost eventually. If I had his and other's talent I would've want to leave a "legacy".

In the end is also our loss but to each is own.

So, if "slam" has closed his site, and no longer shared his work, there is a more than valid reason,and I can understand his decision.
It's not difficult to understand why, in fact it's very simple, but I won't explain all the reasons, nor will I say just one......

Well...well....well!!!

When an author, (including me, and you too zobou....we know very well) takes a long time to build a table, "perhaps for someone it is not clear enough what it means and what it takes... time, mentality, quality, creativity, not to mention script, etc etc to build a table" and as in this case of "slam" (see the "comment" above, an example.... I think this should also be deleted ) which is criticized by "users"and I mean in general,for unfounded reasons (which I refrain from not mentioning) and for a personal whim and still pointing fingers, you want to blame him if he then doesn't share his work?

Exactly........further proof of how I think and write in this my post !!!
This is also my reason why I didn't want to publish my tables from PinSimDB to PN, to avoid "someone" complaining about this!!!
In fact I'm trying to update my table's to Fizx too, but it takes time.

"They" say.... it's easy to add fizx!!!,
But sometimes this isn't enough just to add(even now on "Goldrake" I make some changes), an author with the qualities and gaming vision of "slam" I remind you that "slam" with pinball works on it in real life, so he has to make a huge revolution in the table regarding physics, especially for him who has always revolutionized his physics and xml, I repeat to "someone is not clear enough what it takes to finalize a table".
It's easy to talk ...if to lunch or dinner you have everything ready on the table, and you just have to take the cutlery to eat.

My guess is he doesn't like FizX although I have never heard him say anything about it. ...But then why would he post the first video that in this thread if he liked FizX and the demo table he posted doesn't have FizX either.

The answer is very simple G, as I said just now above.

I conclude by saying this; with very much regret and sadness, "someone here" compared me to "slam", to this someone I reply; go and try to build (don't modify, it's easy) your own table, before criticizing the authors who have contributed a lot to FP.

Reacting to my post the same way I did to yours proves my point.

And remember, I did try to work with you and we exchanged lots of email. Trust me when I say your "hard work" happens because you try to reinvent the wheel making it harder on yourself.

Slam at least understands english, something you clearly don't OR you really didn't read my post.

Everyone, including me, acknowledged your work by now. So stop hanging to the past and move forward.

PS: I wonder what you or Slam would do if the FREE tools provided for you to make the tables were PAID for you but not for others... And also, a lot more people have a lot of hours in their tables without bitching about it. Hell, you're the only one I know who actually bitched about a table being featured and refusing the recognition of a great work in VPE. Talk about ego... You really make it hard on yourself out of stupid pride.

In short, everyone is free to do what they want with free software. One day slam tilt will answer himself positively or negatively, I would respect his choice without necessarily agreeing or not. personally if someone edited my work I would be happy to do so, because at the moment I'm glad I haven't had any legal issues with copyright. So, I see this as community work and not just mine.

And I fully respect your thoughts!!! but the context was not the fact of modifying the tables of "slam" if I'm not mistaken (Russell this is the name of "slam" if anyone didn't know), he gave permission to modify his tables in FP except for vp ,but instead it was the lack of sharing that was his work of Fp......and since "slam" is criticized for not sharing his work lately and closing his site, then I just wanted to point out one of the reasons, why I am criticized (and attacked I would say) for this reason too.

I recently shared "Stardust" it took me a long time to update it to Fizx too, so I don't accept being told that I don't share my tables....

In an other hand, the first tables of Slamt1lt was Abra Ca Dabra, Strikes & Spares and I don't remember the name of the third. Totally without agreement. After some posts, I gave agreement.
And I don't speak about VP tables. VP men like my graphics...

I totally agree JP, the fact is that he is criticized because at a certain point Russell no longer wanted to share his work, but Gentlemen is an author free to choose whether to share or not?

It's too nice of a day to be putting up with this. Slam did his video, which is very nice, but the rest of this thread has degenerated again. I will lock this thread for the time being, till the other admins get here, and then maybe we will discuss a couple things, as I for one am getting tired of this. It's just a game, and a hobby for all of us, nothing else.
