Upgrade/Project New Site Logo Workshop

Nice, renders even better than the anchor! I think the large version is better. :yes2:

Feel free to update the site logo whenever you feel like a bit of piracy, unless you want to add anything else. :pirat:

On a old computer at the moment (really old) so doing a nhl (hockey) based theme for the season opener in Oct.

Has to be pinball related pete, but nice try. :)

Initial idea. Had to use Ice fever of course, but the pf images I had were not saveable, so as usual, went the long route and used the plastics. I'm done for the night, but this is what it looks like so far. At the moment, I'm drawing in new artwork on the left, and then have to cleanup and do color balancing before I finish up the right side. The left was actually a lot of work, had to do the gloves, sweater and helmet and redo the lines.

This is a larger image in height, I will crop it to it's proper size when it's done. Plastic image included after a bit of clean up and inlargement (in case someone wants to do a version for FP)

Had some time this morning so finished the banner. Season starts Oct. Lots of resizing and fussing over colors as usual, but happy with it. As usual, comments welcome on improvements.

Since next year is a big anniversary year and we need more pinball content for our banners, I decided to do another banner, this time to celebrate the 40th anniversary release of High Speed in January. This was the first System 11 game, designed by Steve Richie, and I consider High Speed to be one of the most influential designs for modern pinball tables.

This was a fun one to do, and it was something to do. Like the dummy I am, I left my hard drive with my game on it at my girl friends house, and she lives 8 hours from me at the moment.

So next banner I decided to take a crack at is Pinbot. I was very surprised to see the lack of resources (and new versions to play) on the web, most of the images were small and blurry, so I had to spend quite a bit of time cleaning the first image, the back glass. Because it was a low quality image, I decided to comic book style (heavier black lines and reduced color palette) it and have been spending the last few hours touching up and re-adding in color and pasting in replacement bits to replace damaged areas.

This is what I have so far, but still needs some more work. No idea about the banner yet, as the banner is only 400 pixels high so it's gonna be difficult. Looks like I will have to remove the black background, place the main image where I want to, and then cut out bits and rearrange them. Pretty challenging...

If you want pics of the bare playfield or plastics or the back of the translight, just ask

Thanks Pete. I will if I need them.

What I have so far. Not sure if I am gonna do anymore to this, this is a sleep on it kind of thing. It's a different style than what I usually do, but lack of art and the small height of the logo forced my hand so to speak.

It was a bit tougher to do, I had to move the hands and redraw things like the shoulders, as well as cut out sections to move them around as the main image had to be resized to fit the logo height, so I had to fill up space. The custom PN text was not fun to do BTW....

Guess it's fine, it's just a banner after all. May have time to do another one, I wanted a classic solid state game, so have a couple choices. EBD, firepower, or Paragon. All 3 will have their challenges, but can't decide so just post which one you would like.

With the passing of Robert Redford, EBD

I rather like Paragon myself.

Leaning towards ebd, only because Paragon would be such a bitch to do and take up a huge amount of time. Had a look around, and Black Knight is also on my list now, as it was released in November 1980, and Elvira as well. Both games have multiple sequels which is handy.

Tough choice.

I think the best choices would be Eight Ball Deluxe or Black Knight. Eight Ball Deluxe was a high-volume production game, with almost 9,000 units originally manufactured. Its prequel, Eight Ball, sold over 20,000 units in 1977. The Black Knight was historically significant
because it introduced the features of a two-level playfield and "Magna-Save". No sales records exist for it but it must have done well because it had 2 sequals, Black Knight 2000 and Black Knight: Sword of Rage.

I would probably just pick the one that has the best graphics that you can fit on the narrow banner.

Thanks George. I'm still looking around for material, but ebd and Bk have limited resources and very little promo material. Elvira though different story, so maybe do up something there as there are 3 games and loads of additional material. With Halloween coming up, be a good fit.

i have a repo EBD backlglass
I cannot take the right photos with my phone, will see if my flat scanner works

Old photo, I no longer have the backglass

If you want just the 'Black Knight' wording. the flyer for BK 2000 seems a match

Trivia time.

There is a difference on the playfield between EBD and the LE
on the LE, the plastic beside the '8' drop-target is indented.
If the ball gets stuck behind a resetting target, the ball can go around the target
