Newbie needs help

Ok, I'm not "tech savvy" by no means but I feel that I do enough to get by.....However, Visual Pinball 9 is whooping my behind. I can get tables I've downloaded to appear and they are "playbale" but the paddles are invisible and the lights are showing up as they do in the editor. What am I doing wrong here? Someone please help me, thank you.

There is nothing wrong with you.
Open Visual Pinball and at the top of the editor click
Preferences > Video Options.
UNCHECK the Hardware Device Rendering box.

Set the Resolution to match your video card's Desktop Resolution.
To find your Desktop Resolution, Right-Click on any empty space on the Desktop screen and from the drop-down menu choose Properties and the Settings tab and make a note of the resolution setting.
Then set the Visual Pinball Video Options Resolution to the same setting But try setting Visual Pinball to the same resolution at 16 bit. Example. If your Desktop resolution is 1224 x 768 then set Video Option's resolution to: 1224 x 768 x 16. If the Desktop is set to 800 x 600, then try 800 x 600 x 16

Also, in Video Options try setting the Max Texture dimension to
1024 or 512, especially if your computer uses onboard video/no separate video card.

Under each table > Options, if Cache Rendered Tables is checked, then Uncheck it.

Try these suggestions, then close Visual Pinball, then re-open Visual Pinball, then try the table.

Post and let us know what happens.

um okay I guess that worked as I recognize the word Danke to mean thanks! also in VP9.1.2 you may have to slide that 'alpha ramp transparency' slider all the way to the left. Start with it there then move it a notch at a time until your pins start to mess up while playing. Then move that slider one to the left and that should make all (9.1.2) tables playable in 9.1.2
