Williams Paddock (Williams, 1969) flipper problem

I'm replacing all the rubber parts, and I'm wondering how to do the flippers without putting too much strain on them. Also, some of the old rubber residue is tightly adhered to the flippers. Any suggestions? Thanks

what do you mean 'do the flippers'?
any old rubbers can be taken off with either a straight edge razor
and/or acetone or even paint thinner
if they are real bad (yellowed, cracked) it's best to just replace them

Has any one had experience with using "GOOF OFF" on pinball surfaces? I have had many a success removing adhesives and mis-aplied substances like vandalism marker and recent paint drips with Goof Off. Will it ruin plastics, flippers or fog clear coat?

Goof Off is harsh denatured alcohol. It is effective but can harm many underlying surfaces.
Goo Gone would be a safer bet, but I don't know if it would be effective enough for rubber.

If you can get the parts away, you might try hitting them with a co-2 fire extinguisher and try rubbing the rubber off the plastic with your fingers after the rubber is near frozen.
