Plunger Woes

I have a few games that have plunger issues. Spiderman, Jokerz, El_bueno_el_feo_y_el_malo, and Theatre Of Magic. When I try to play these games the plunger shoots the ball but, the ball never makes it all of the way up -it gets hung up on something and comes back down. This happens whether I play it in vp 8, 9.03, 4, or 5. ( I adjusted the script error max ball speed and startshake to play in vp 8). In vp9 sometimes I get the transitional screen that starts to change from the vp screen to the game but never fully changes over. Any one have any ideas, and please keep it simple I am still learning this "computer stuff".

Not sure but it might be due to any changes you made to "max ball speed" or the scripting of any of the ball's motion parameters. You might want to download or unzip an original copy.

As for troubles with the plunger, these tables are scripted to approximate the actions of a real plunger, or tries to, so you want to make sure to hold the plunger key down longer than you would for a stock VP plunger. That's because the custom plunger script used in these tables might take longer to build the necessary power to launch the ball on some computers. It does on mine, but it usually does work.

When you hold the key down, watch the plunger pull back. When it's slow you'll notice that the plunger animation is also not pulled back as far at first, but give it time.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, too much work- not enough pinball. First off it isn't because I didn't pull the plunger back far enough. The ball physically hits something and comes back. Also this happened when I got the game to work, I got the script error in vp8 &9 and had to change it to get it to work. I just got through fixing another problem, all of my vpm games stopped working at once - looking for roms. Nothing was moved I was saving games to a flashdrive when it happened. I uninstalled and reinstalled pinmame and now everything that was working is working again. What really sucks is that everything I changed settings on will have to be redone, flipper strength, etc.
