Williams Police Force (Williams, 1989) Won't start

everything lights up but wont start the game.. any ideas?

machine starts up lights come on and then makes a pong noise. wont play

Hi, I might have the same problem as you do. Did you find any solution to your problem? My police force lights up but when I start a game it will shut down, and the lights go off. After a second the the lights comes on again. Sometimes, if the game is started cold, the car goes 10 cm before the game goes black again.

Any clue where to start the investigation? The +5v battery pack is ok, just changed batteries and also removed the original to an external pack
to avoid damage on the board.

Thankful for any help to find a solution.

That "Pong" sound is good news. It usually means the self diagnostic completed and no errors are found. The game should be ready to play. Check for proper solenoid voltage and check for/out a coin door safety switch.
