And Bill, I can't help you with your reputation at all.

OK, sleepy... I think this is officially weird. The computer can apparently read your karma. Remember the beginning of Baba O'Reily where Pete Townshend put a synthesizer rhythm to each member's biorhythm? Apparently the technology has advanced to the point where the computer can read your Karma. That means that the correct answer to "which one is the right religion" is not Mormon, as South Park predicted, but Hindu.

as a buddhist, i'd just like to point out that "karma" is pretty much rubbish primarily designed to ease human angst... IMO, natch.

I'm not positive... let me re-read that... yep! You just described every single organized religion! We'll just leave karma blank and let everyone else fill it in!

OK flag options work for me, then again I'm an an admin, though I need a guinea pig. Give it a test Pinball Nirvana Forums - View Profile: ruby651@@AMEPARAM@@View Profile: ruby651</title>@@AMEPARAM@@ruby651 and I'm thinking maybe I need to check allow user input. Just got back from work like, mowed the croquet courts and watered the tees on the golf course, well those few up the top of the course where the irrigation don't reach, Oh and watered myself on the way back at the local, it's like friggin hot here..

you... you...! (said while pointing with all one's dying strength at mocking enemy of choice*)

my POINT is, william, that buddhism gets it right in so many areas that when it -does- stray in to self-serving regions as above, i notice that it's actually a bit novel and worthy of making light of... motherfucker.

So Why do they try to make you feel guilty for leaving them on their lonesome?

It might not be Karma after all.
I just remembered seeing a software that tracks search results on the Net and informs you
any time somebody searches for you.

Ghostery is the solution. ;)

Also if you have a spare moment want to try the flags?

lousy Rep 33 ordering me around... I mean, sure, Steve! Love to do it! Okay, here's the crazy thing: when you go to the flag dropdown menus, all you see is white. But, when you hover the mouse over the dropdown menu, the names actually show up! It's like a magic trick! Okay... done guinea pigging! I got Wisconsin to work. Now you get to work fixing my North Korea flag! It was the only country I could find that best fits the ideals of the United Federation of Planets.

LOL! I couldn't help it! That statement was so perfect! Karl Marx couldn't have said it better! You know, when I took my Comparative Religion class, Buddhism was the closet to one that I would choose. From what I learned, Buddhism was pretty low on the institutionalized racism and/or sexism most of the other organized religions are burdened with. Although there was one tenet that stuck in my craw... but I can't remember what it was. Homersexuals, maybe? To be honest, I would probably pick Unitarianism over all of them. Believe in something, believe in nothing... it's all embraced! Then I realized that Unitarianism was just a place for people who don't really belong anywhere else to have something to do on Sunday morning. And I hate doing anything on Sunday morning. So... Satanism it is! I think they celebrate their Black Mass on Saturdays, usually after midnight when I'm awake anyway... perfect fit! :devil5:

Meh... whom swingings the hammer should not complain about the anvil, yes?

I can as a matter of course as an admin edit anything, I've an idea it's a problem your end?

I'm in the process of replacing XP before the end of the month myself. ;)

Going here myself..

Until, whenever I per chance can afford a new PC...

My credits have mysteriously skyrocketed and are ready to ejaculate !

Also your rep power is now rock bottom. ;)

No, I didn't do it..:p

Banking Vs. Working:polar Opposites ?

Yea C_S. I thought you were working on your banking.
Banking Vs. Working Vs. Working The Bank...
I was working on figuring out the banking. I figured out Pinball Nirvana's Bank yields a generous return(It Does Not Track Donations Received). The figure I invested does not explain my sudden wealth. All I can figure is JACKPOT. What secret benefactor hath jacked up my pot?..."♪ Sweet Mystery Of Life ♫"

P.S. After rereading all this more carefully maybe I should be thanking Mr. Shockman...Did You/He have that much bank to give away?

Are you seriously questioning the guy with the hammer in his meaty paw? Because it may not be the anvil I'm aiming for! :awaken: The last time I took a serious look at Linux was looong ago, and, at that point, it was not user-friendly to... well, to someone who has a hammer in their meaty paw. I'm going to assume that it's a little more idiot-proof now? And that there's a way to run Windows programs? Basically, Steve, I'm asking you to tell me all the ways Linux has been improved in the last 15 years. Get typin'!

@Coil: Yeah, Shocky's swimming in credits, as well as sleepy. I believe one of them may be your benefactor. If they could find a real-world financial exchange they could pool their credits and buy their own island. Shocksylvania. Sleepstania. And now you're richer than I am. I'm sittin' here with under 100,000 credits and no North Korea flag. I just can't win.

All right, Steve! Time to test those omnipotent editing powers! Here's my North Korea/United Federation of Planets flag. Just go ahead and slide that into the North Korea slot on the dropdown menu... we'll worry about the flags for the Federation planets later.

'How do you do'_ that? :help:I still don't know how to display a thumbnail or attachment from my local files...:dork:
"Sleepstania" Sounds like a real nice relaxing place. Or maybe the miracle ingredient for a good nights rest.

some of my relatives of relatives around here have been going to a unitarian place for ages. i've been several times for weddings and special events, but keep meaning to get over there for a service. it sounds like some good shit, going by the feedback.

hmm... so far i haven't come across any pro or anti-homersexualism in buddhism. at least, in the tenets and the literature. though it would probably be unusual if there wasn't some man-on-man love amongst the dedicated monks holed up in their monasteries for long stretches.

but i think the main thing that allows me to be buddhist is that i give it equal standing with science, nature, and mentors like joseph campbell. online i interact regularly with buddhists, and i'm often intrigued / educated by what they have to say... but more often i'm face-palming to nonsense and to those whose real needs are for something like christianity, but who are presently bullshitting themselves that they're actually buddhists.

ANYWAY... the only approach that makes sense to me is dumping all wisdom and experience in the cauldron, stirring, then extracting the best parts as they come floating to the surface. just that it's neverending / consuming work for one such as i... gol' dangit.

ugh... north korea. that's one miserable little country, right there.

how to choose between n. korea and someplace like somalia as 'worst nation to live in in the world'?

i mean, in the former, you have to brainwashed and physically productive, otherwise you get whisked off to a labor camp. in the latter, there's no oversight of any kind, right? so i assume it's lawlessness and everyone trying to scam each other endlessly.

Post a poll? Maybe include Venezuela?

interesting. i had to read up a little, just now. well, venezuela certainly sounds like a dangerous place, although its politics and economy don't sound too unusual for south america.

so far it doesn't seem to be horrible on the scale of n.korea and somalia. *shrug*

The only thing wrong with Linux is that there are so many Windows computers in turnaround, that people who are most likely to benefit from Linux are looking at maybe hundreds of dollars to uggrade the modem and peripherals to Linux compatibility.

That's the way it's been, that most computers were equipped with WinSoft cards that wouldn't run on Linux instead of more expensive hardwired cards that are platform-independent.
Has that situation changed?

Hey C_S, I appreciate the donation, but I'm going to have to do something with it.
I didn't give anyone credits, not that I wouldn't, but because having more than enough for the PN Arcade soon becomes useless. I like the PN bank for practice, and for "dreaming the dream of personal freedom", but that's all it's good for.

Do you have any land that you don't need?

puppy dogs and rainbow clouds and mist composed of strawberry taffy, that’s what!
